Jijil Tavern — Restaurant in Yerevan

Jijil Tavern in Yerevan, Armenia, is by far the worst eatery in a city full of great restaurants. Even though a friend had gotten food poisoning from eating there before, we decided to give it another chance. Only the service is as terrible as the food. The place caters to questionable people, so the staff act like thugs. Even though it’s illegal to smoke in restaurant patios, they allow people to smoke like chimneys. Expect to have the waiter get pretty much everything wrong about your order. If you order more than one thing, each will come about twenty-five minutes apart, so you won’t be able to eat properly. Don’t bother speaking with management; they are rude and have no concept of customer service. If there were a zero option for starts, they would get zero.

I’m not surprised to see a PR damage control response from someone who wasn’t there. Your account is a fantastical, fictitious story. What happened last night was a restaurant with abhorrent customer service not taking responsibility for their actions, then ganging up on two loyal patrons. What you call a ‘technical error’ happened throughout the time my friend and I were there, while your waiter was rude and condescending. Yet, your manager defended him without asking us for our side or letting us speak. There was no attempt to rectify the situation, only defensive men whose ego was hurt because customers were unhappy and dared to vocalize it.

Your staff displayed rude, violent, and illegal behavior, as one pushed me several times while another one threatened me repeatedly. Is this what you call mutual respect? Several witnesses saw it and will attest to that. Your staff acted like thugs. They are lucky that I let it go and did not call the police and other proper authorities. If this is your attempt at public relations for optics, you are going down the wrong path. As a journalist, I work with facts, evidence, and witnesses, not hearsay, as you are. I have never been treated this way in my life, in a restaurant or anywhere else.

If I had thought that your suggestion to speak with your director was an authentic and heartfelt invitation and not simply a matter of public relations, I would have accepted. But I don't respond to anything...

Ցանկանում եմ իմ մեծ հիացմունքն արտահայտել այս հրաշալի ռեստորանի համար, որն ինձ պարգևեց ճաշելու անզուգական փորձ: Ներս մտնելու առաջին իսկ պահից ես նկատեցի նրբաճաշակ դեկորն ու հարմարավետ մթնոլորտը, որը այցելուներին տալիս է հարմարավետության և հանգստի զգացում: Ողջունումը շատ ջերմ էր, իսկ սպասարկումը բարձր մակարդակի վրա էր: Անձնակազմը շատ բարեհամբույր և ուշադիր էր, հատկապես պարոն Էդվարդը համոզվեց, որ բոլոր պատվերները լրացվում էին արագ և բարձր որակով:

Ինչ վերաբերում է ճաշատեսակներին, ապա դրանք պարզապես անմոռանալի են։ Թարմ բաղադրիչները, հավասարակշռված համերը և էլեգանտ ներկայացումը յուրաքանչյուր ուտեստ դարձնում են արվեստի իսկական գործ: Ինձ հատկապես դուր եկավ (խորովածը), համը պարզապես անհաղթելի էր, իսկ համեմունքը կատարյալ էր: Ճաշացանկի բազմազանությունը նույնպես տպավորիչ էր՝ թույլ տալով այցելուներին փորձել տարբեր տեսակի ուտեստներ՝ ըստ իրենց նախասիրությունների։

Բացառիկ որակն ու մանրուքների նկատմամբ ուշադրությունն ակնհայտ էին ամեն ինչում՝ շրջակա միջավայրի մաքրությունից մինչև բարձրակարգ կազմակերպություն: Նաև գները շատ մատչելի էին, հաշվի առնելով սննդի և սպասարկման բարձր որակը: Ես զգացի, որ գտնվում եմ մի վայրում, որտեղ հաճախորդների գոհունակությունը և հաճախորդների լավագույն փորձի ապահովումը չափազանց կարևոր էր:

Անկեղծ ասած, այս ռեստորանն արժանի է ամենաբարձր գնահատականին, և ես այն խորհուրդ եմ տալիս բոլորին, ովքեր փնտրում են ճաշելու հիանալի փորձ: Անպայման շատ անգամ կվերադառնամ այստեղ՝ նոր ուտեստներ փորձելու։ Շնորհակալություն այս բացառիկ փորձի համար:

The service: Service was quite bad, considering the 10% mandatory already included service fee. A bit more motivation wouldn’t hurt the waiters.
