Where do I begin? What a change in standard and quality for the worse. I am a regular to this restaurant and have been here to eat on many occasions yet clearly there is now a new chef that is substandard and the serving portions and ingredients have been reduced and skimped upon compared to having eaten the exact same meals here repeatedly in the past. The food is normally fantastic except for the fact that I ordered my dish without bacon relish, because I am a strict vegetarian and the restaurant staff are aware of this fact, and the dish came with the bacon relish and I didn’t notice it amongst the lettuce and sauce and ended up biting into the bacon. I have never eaten bacon in my life and it is strictly against my religion. I was mortified and glad that I didn’t at least ingest the bacon however O did bite into it and taste it. It’s an horrific ordeal to go through such an experience and I felt violated in every way. I complained and explained the situation and the religious significance of the violation and the waitress said that the chef is new and made a mistake and that they would get a new dish without the bacon. I explained that the consequence of what happened is quite significant for my religion and belief system and they didn’t understand or care. I can’t undo the fact that I ate bacon when it is against my religion and me being vegetarian for decades. It’s not acceptable and is appalling on the part of the restaurant and it’s staff. Until they change the chef for a better one and stop skimping on the ingredients and portion sizes I would not recommend eating here at all. A totally horrible experience at our expense. They have recently changed the entire layout of the furniture and the seating in both the main area and the private function room area and it looks and feels terrible. It used to feel like a breezy, elegant, cosy atmosphere by the beach with stunning views in a fantastic location. Now it’s like an open cafeteria with uncomfortable seating and less privacy and intimacy in which to dine and enjoy the ambience and experience. The restaurant was so right previously in every way and now it is completely wrong in every way except for the stunning view. The management should have at least refunded the price of my meal and made a sincere apology in understanding the gravity of what had actually occurred. This has never happened before the dozens of times that I have eaten here previously knowing that I am a strict vegetarian yet now it has. This begs the question; Why did this happen now when it has never happened before? Until they improve the service, the food, the layout and seating and have the music turned up a little louder to drown out the cafeteria noise THEN I WOULD NOT GO HERE, I WOULD NOT EAT HERE and I WOULD NOT WASTE MY TIME.

After 2 weeks since posting this review I have not received a reply from the venue to rectify this matter or to even address what has happened. No concern, no customer service and no care.
I have noticed in multiple previous posts in the past that management would always respond to a posted review to address the matter that was posted and to offer a solution or contact details to contact a senior staff member directly in private to resolve the matter. This has not happened.
ABSOLUTELY APPALLING
DO NOT EVER GO TO HYDE PARADISO YOU WILL BE...
Read moreAs an Accor Plus Platinum member, I frequently travel to hotel restaurants across the globe. This one is the WORST I have ever seen in my life. My wife and I arrived at the Hyde Paradiso restaurant at exactly 7:14 PM (on 19 Feb 2025) and noticed the restaurant was almost empty, we then made our order at 7:19 PM (I know the exact time because I had to make a phone call) and noticed guests started arriving around 7:25 PM. Around 7:35 PM, my wife started to wonder why those who arrived late had already gotten their food, but nothing had come to our table yet. I then went to the counter and raised our question with the manager, a few minutes later we were told that the waitress lost our order. Because my wife’s stomach was cramping because of hunger, I quickly reordered and politely asked if something such as bread could be given to my wife urgently to help with her stomach cramping. The manager said she would get my wife some bread and promised to deliver food urgently, she also promised that the cost of “tuna tartare” would be waived, her original words were “tuna tartare will be on the house” and I thanked her. Around 7:50 PM, still no food. While watching everyone else who arrived late getting food and my wife having an unbearable stomach cramping because of her hunger, I once again approached the manager politely asking if some bread could be given immediately. To my surprise, the manager angrily screamed at me saying “I CAN’T MAKE THE FOOD JUST APPEAR LIKE THAT! (she snaps her fingers while saying it)”. Despite my patient explanation of my wife’s stomach cramp and polite request for some bread, which surely doesn’t take 20 min to fetch, the manager became overly enraged at my presence. The first plate (cold dish), including bread, eventually came at 7:54 PM (35 minutes after our order) and hot food came about 15 minutes later. My wife’s stomach cramp had gotten so bad to the point that any cold food would agitate her pain, so we quickly finished our hot food and left. At the counter, after paying the bill, I noticed the cost of “tuna tartare” was in fact not waived. After questioning it with the manager, the manager explains because she has “given more food”, that is why it was not waived. My wife felt every unwell after the food, so she insisted that we should return to our hotel and raise a complaint later. Honestly, This is the first time in my life that I have ever heard of a waitress losing an order… Certainly never had a manager screaming at me while they were in the wrong, these are truly eye-opening, to say the least. I will reserve my right to chase the restaurant for breaching section 18 of the Australian consumer law, misleading and deceptive conduct such as the acts of the manager should not be tolerated and heavy penalty can be applied, I will wait for the reply of the Hyde Paradiso restaurant before taking...
Read moreVery rarely do I write a review in the negative. But I can tell you now no one from our table of 6 from Saturday night will be going back to Hyde Paradiso again. We have been once before, a year or so ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, but Saturday night was a whole different experience. The booking process was great and so was Rachel on the phone when I called and changed the number of people on our table. However, that is where the good part of the night ended. We had to literally jump up and down to get noticed for table, service. At one point one of our table went to the bar to obtain their own drink as we were getting minimal service. I went to take one of the oysters off the plate that we had ordered and was immediately repulsed by the foul smell of the oysters. We all smelt them and agreed there was something seriously wrong with them. The waiter agreed and took them away with no charge. Not sure how he didn't notice the smell prior to delivering them to us or how the chefs would allow that out of their kitchen. The rest of the food we had was okay, although the steaks were very fatty and my friend's was undercooked. She did mention in to the staff but that was that, the waiter didn't come back. We had to ask for our starter plates to be cleared away whilst our mains were being served to the table, as the staff didn't quite notice everything was still sitting there. We had to ask for cutlery, twice, and after we finished eating and after prolonged period, a few of our main plates and dishes were cleared but they just never came back to finish the task. One of the ladies who helped serve some of our meals was also then in the area next to us mopping the floor. This is at about 9pm or perhaps even earlier, which was slightly off-putting. We were not offered the dessert menu either. To be honest I was embarrassed that I had suggested Hyde Paradiso to my friends and couldn't wait to get out of there. The restaurant wasn't even half full for the evening, we arrived at 7:30pm so you can't use "being too busy" as an excuse. I do hope you really take what I have said into consideration and offer some additional training to your staff, because guests shouldn't have to stand up and wave etc to get attention to order drinks or ask for their plates to be cleared. It was like the staff were walking around not even looking or noticing what was right in front of them. Stunning view,...
