Windarra on High — Hotel in Launceston

Debbie was lovely at breakfast, taking the feedback below well. I dropped the service rating due to below. The website says free parking, though it should state 'no onsite parking' or street parking. I specifically searched for accommodation with parking and this came up on lots of sites. I got drenched walking my bag to the front door as the closest park was ages away. I called to ask for help, no response or answer, no return call, about 10.30pm. I brought in all my gear, not sure about safety of cars, not local. Luckily my clothes dried overnight. I can see others have had a lovely time here, and the hosts have been lovely to others. I havent met them. Im tired and found it stressful trying to find their parking.

We have just spent an idyllic 5 nights at this beautiful heritage listed home. Our party of 16 mainly cyclists from the mainland booked out the entire place including the kitchen and dining room for our exclusive use. The owners took a leap of faith entrusting us with their beloved lodgings and we were able to plan our week perfectly. We rode different routes every day average distance 60 clicks All bikes were stored safely in a lock up garage overnight We walked to a couple of restaurants , swam in the pool 100 metres down High St, walked the gorge to Duck Reach ,swam in the gorge and devoured the lunches served up fresh each day at Cuccina Milkbar with coffee on tap from 7.30 every morning All the rooms at Windarra had ensuites and were a great size. Windarra on high is a beautiful B&B in a central location. We stayed here with our two teenage children over the March long weekend due to a tent malfunction (long story) and we are so glad we did. Susanna and Gordon were wonderful hosts, so friendly and welcoming. We stayed in ‘the residence’ which has a lovely new bathroom, a kitchen and dining room and a living room. There was also a patio with a barbecue, which is where we cooked dinner each night. We took advantage of the yummy breakfast each morning, which is included in the price. East Launceston is a lovely area and Windarra is in walking distance to the CBD. We would highly recommend Windarra in High and would love to stay there again when back in Launceston.
