We had a reservation at this restaurant and were really looking forward to a nice dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start.
When we arrived, we were informed that there was an issue with the oven, which would take at least 45 minutes to resolve. While we understand that technical issues can happen, the restaurant had both our phone number and email and could have notified us in advance. This lack of communication was frustrating, especially since we were already very hungry by the time we arrived.
To make up for the delay, they offered a complimentary drink, which we appreciated. In the meantime, we ordered the burrata as a starter, only to be told it would come without bread due to the oven issue. I confirmed with the staff that the price would be adjusted accordingly. However, in the end, the dish was not discounted, even though we only received part of what was advertised.
After waiting nearly an hour, our pizzas finally arrived. They were tasty, but given the prices and the glowing reviews we had read beforehand, we expected more in terms of overall quality and experience.
At the end of the meal, we were offered a limoncello shot for our patience, which was a nice gesture, but it didn’t make up for the overall disappointment—especially considering it was a special occasion.
Sadly, what should have been a celebratory evening ended up being more frustrating...
Read moreWe had originally booked a table at Pizzeria Minante, but unfortunately, we had to cancel as something came up, and we were going to be two hours late. When we finally arrived, the place was fully booked, but the staff kindly offered us a spot at the small bar near the entrance.
The service was absolutely lovely, the staff were incredibly friendly, and throughout our time there, we chatted with the girls behind the bar, who, despite working non-stop, were so warm and engaging.
As for the food, we ordered a burrata, but the sauce underneath was quite acidic and didn’t really complement the salad. The mixed bruschettas, on the other hand, were fantastic. We also ordered two pizzas, one of them was supposed to be their signature pizza, but to be honest, it was quite disappointing. The mortadella on top didn’t blend well at all; it was simply placed there, cold and unappetising. However, the other pizza was much better, spicy and full of flavour, just how I like it.
If you visit, I’d recommend sticking to a classic, safe pizza choice rather than going for something...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic pizza! Really enjoyed our food. We ordered two side salads as well. I got the Sofia pizza i think and my cousin the Monica. Although i don't like aubergines/eggplants on pizza very much i really really enjoyed it! Friendly staff as well.
The only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is because due to covid restrictions, even though you sit outside they put these fabric shields on either side of you. This way the waiters/waitress never really sees you and it's the biggest hassle to get their attention. Even though I kindly asked them to check on us often and not forget about us, they still did not.i understand they are busy but when these fabric shields are pulled they must take extra steps to make sure to check on customers.
Hopefully next time we can visit and this won't be a problem. We are outside anyways so I'm not sure why the shields are...
