We came here at 1pm for brunch/lunch and were charmed by the cosy terrace. The first waiter to bring us the menu's appeared very friendly. A second waiter came to take our order. The first thing we wanted to order, the moussaka from the handwritten blackboard weekly menu, was not available. The second thing we wanted to order the roastbeef sandwich, was not available, they were already out of bread apparently? We needed a little time to rethink our order and this appeared to be not to the liking of the waitress. The other things we ordered were no problem, however, when they brought the drinks they told there was no more fresh orange juice (3rd thing not available!) and 1 of the 2 coffees was missing. When we mentioned the 2nd coffee we received a face and the coffee was brought without any word of apology. Next when they brought the food, the spoon for my soup was missing and I noticed that there was no basilicum on the caprese salad, although it was clearly written on the menu. I asked for the spoon and wanted to ask for the basil, but the waitress was to busy to hear my second request, so I had to repeat it when she brought the spoon. Again a face was made and a few minutes later I received a small cup with some leaves of basil, again without a word or apology, still attached to each other so I had to separate them myself. At this moment the whole experience was ruined for us and although the place is really cosy and the food tasted good we won't recommend due to the bad service.

We really enjoyed this restaurant a lot. The food was excellent, the service much better than most places, and prices were reasonable. I had a rustic ham and cheese toast on truly delicious bread. My wife had the oven roasted vegetable salad with cheese and bread. Both were fantastic. We started with a creamed pumpkin soup which was also very good. I had a glass of Sturm (early, unfiltered, low alcohol wine) that was decent and a little overpriced (4,20 per glass where most places charge 3,40 right now). Little things, though, made the difference. The waitress allowing us to sample the Blaufränkisch wine and the second server replacing my wife's silver because he brushed against while putting her plate down. The courtyard is great, even in cooler weather as it is super quiet and wind protected in shoulder seasons.

We are so lucky for this tip from our neighbor! Variety is not so wide but the things offered are very high standard and fresh. We ordered the Schnitzel and a Hummus mousse with olives. The Hummus was great and you could taste the quality of the ingredients like the olive oil. I recommend it. Also on a hot day like we had it was very refreshing. Bio quality on the meat is a plus. Friendly waiter is always something one appreciate. Outside terrace is getting there on atmosphere, probably some wooden small roof with the creeper plants would give the final touch and give a more cozy inviting atmosphere. We are happy though.

the food is excellent but the service is a disaster. We used to love this place, however lately we experienced several times really bad service - we we were either not served at all, or we waited for forever, or they just threw the menu to us not saying hello or any word.

Last time we were sitting in the backyard and no one came. After waiting for 18 minutes and noticing that people are bringing the foods and drinks themselves nobody came and so we decided to leave. When leaving there was sign at the door that we are wellcomed to bring the drinks ourselves. In my opinion if they don’t even ofer service, they shouldn’t be called a restaurant or expect any tip. And for throwing the menu like that, not saying a word, they also don’t deserve a tip.

We are very disappointed, we loved this place.

We also don’t like that they don’t have separated non smoking area outside, we go out to enjoy the fresh air, and each time somebody next to us started to smoke...

Amerlingbeisl is an awesome spot and somewhat of a hidden gem in the city! I sat in the outside area and met a friend for drinks and something to eat. Whilst the drinks menu is comprehensive, the food menu isnt as detailed but you will still find something to nibble on. I had the "tortilla" which is a wrap either vegan or pork with corresponding fillings, quite tasty and filling! The fries were definitely a pleasant surprise, great taste and perfectly fried! In all honesty though, the food is definitely good but not the highlight. That honor goes to just how the vibe is in this place. The indoor patio is stunning, with vines lining the ceiling and walls. The building also has like event rooms and classes of sorts including the district museum, worth checking out! Overall, nice place to hang out for after work drinks or just in...
