Bukowski The Pub — Restaurant in Vienna

Checked it out twice.

visit We weren't such a big fan of the pub. The name of the Pub sounds interesting but the location itself does not shout "Bukowski" that much and it isn't that authentic as we thought it would be. Service was okay but could have been more friendly.

visit We sat inside, as the area outside was crowded.The waitress was really unfriendly! It took her a while to serve us as she was more busy having fun with her friends. She wasn't talkative when she finally came to our table and served us the beer she kinda harshly put down the glasses, didn't say a word and walked away quickly. She gave us the feeling, that we weren't welcome inside. But as soon as she was with her friends again she started laughing, talking, fooling around and drinking again... When we paid for our drinks and even tipped her (we are always quite generous and gave her more than 10%) she didn't even look us in the eye, didn't thank us or anything. Sorry but, that girl is just not made for working in service. We guess we won't...

LOCATION 4/5: This place really nails the classic pub vibe, with cool graphics on the walls and a cozy atmosphere. However, it can get really packed—especially with students—sometimes pushing beyond its original capacity. If you’re not a fan of crowded pubs, it’s best to avoid peak student hours!

SERVICE 4/5: No complaints here! The staff is kind and efficient, which is definitely not something to take for granted in Vienna. They keep things running smoothly, even when the place is busy.

DRINKS 4/5: Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid selection of beers and all the classic cocktails you’d expect from a good pub. Perfect for a casual night out with friends.

Great bar with great staff and atmosphere. I was there with my brother, we came at around 1800, we got a sitting space. Waiter was great, interacting and pleasant. The ambient is not posh posh, so if you like posh places steer clear, it has more of a relaxed underground feeling. The drinks are not cheap, but also not over the top, I was drinking Gin Tonic and my brother was drinking White Russian, we both loved our drinks, Gin Tonic had added cucumber and roughly grounded pepper, I loved it. I will return for sure if I will be around.

When we were walking past the bar later on at about 2330 it was packed, so if you want to get a table on a Friday...
