Hotel Condeza — Hotel in La Paz

OK, so the hotel itself isn't the greatest in the world, and there's certainly cheaper in La Paz, but when you're still paying peanuts its a nice option. We flew into La Paz from Brazil and were recommended the hotel from some pleasant chap at Santa Cruz airport where we stopped over. The top floor restaurant offers stunning views over La Paz and the surrounding mountains, and the Coca tea served provides welcome relief from the altitude sickness we had when arriving in La Paz, so we were equally grateful for the elevator as a flight of stairs leaves you breathless before you acclimatize. The rooms are nice enough, got a little chilly but plenty of sheets. Location is great, close to the main square and all the attractions. Best thing about the place was the staff. We spoke very limited Spanish, and likewise they're English was limited, but they were still great. We did our trip into the Jungle (from Rurrenabaque) and the Uyuni salt flats tour and both times Hotel Condeza were more than happy to hold our main bags until we got back. They tried to help whenever they could, always smiled, which is all you can ask for really. Nearby there's a cuban sandwich place, unbelievable meaty baguettes...

This is one of two hotels I have ever stayed at in Bolivia. For $150 Bs or around $21 U.S. a night it is not bad at all. Clean, comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, free wifi, free light breakfast in a beautiful room at the top of the hotel with stunning views of the city. My major complaint was the hotel is not heated, and I understand almost no where in Bolivia has heat, but it was in the 40's outside (F), and about 55 degrees in my room and I could not get warm under five blankets wearing all my clothes. My teeth chattered for an hour straight. Everyone wears their coats inside. The elevation above 9,000 feet doesn't help either. Sono arrivato a La Paz e fidandomi dell’indicazione di un taxista ho alloggiato all’Hotel Condeza . A parte i gradini per accedere alla reception il posto mi è sembrato buono. Ho subito depositato il danaro in mio possesso nella cassetta di sicurezza ( per non avere sorprese come mi è capitato di legger ) l’Hotel è disposto, se ben ricordo ,su 8 piani la camera assegnatami era al 6° piano, spaziosa con televisore un bagno giusto e una piacevole vista su la città, che di la notte tutta illuminata sembrava un presepe. La mattina la colazione veniva servita all’ultimo piano, e qui almeno per me cera una difficoltà cioè l’ascensore portava solo al 7 piano, per cui all’ottavo ci si arriva a piedi. La mia fatica è stata un po’ ricompensata dalla vista che si godeva sulla citta perché il locale oltre ad essere adornato con manichini con costumi tipici era completamente vetrato!!! Questo offriva una quasi totale vista sulla città. Prima di accedere a questo locale copritevi perché le vetrate offrono una bella vista, ma non isolano dal freddo e qui a 4000metri si sente!!Ho scoperto che questo Hotel è praticamente in posizione strategica perché la via è praticamente piena di negozietti orafi poco lontano dalla chiesa di San. Francesco ( da vedere )e all’avenida Mariscal de Santa Cruz che prosegue con l’avenida 16 Luglio ( El Prado ) vie pedonali e praticamente il centro de La Paz il cui vero nome è Nuestra Senora De La Paz.||Per concludere, L’hotel offre servizio 24ore, cassetta di sicurezza, Wi-Fi gratis, ascensore, servizio di lavanderia, deposito bagagli, riscaldamento (di questa ultima voce dubitate )Il Soggiorno non mi ha entusiasmato ,ma neanche deluso in fin dei conti in questo Hotel ci sono stato solo per dormire quindi……SUFFICENTE!!||Hotel Condeza Diagonal Juan XX III n° 190 tel.(591-2) 2311193-234003||Dimenticavo se ben ricordo con la prima colazione il prezzo era di 180 Bolivar Pesos!!...
