Terrible experience – avoid if you can
The room had feathers for some reason around, the heating system wasn’t working, and if you want to take a hot shower in the afternoon, you have to ask them one hour in advance so they can turn on the hot water.
But the biggest issue was the DISHONEST pricing and behavior. It’s normal in Bolivia to see different exchange rates (8–10 BOB/USD), but usually, you are clearly informed. Here, they used a rate of 13 BOB/USD, which is double the real price. We were tired and at first didn't notice. After when we confronted them they asked (pushed) us to cancel our booking.com reservation, promising they would refund us fully (put the normal exchange rate), but once we did, they changed their minds immediately. Then they asked us to pay in USD by card, then to book via airbnb.
To make it worse, when we asked for a proof of payment, they refused to give us anything.
Honestly, it felt like we were being tricked at every step. I do not recommend this place at all.
We ended up paying 160 bolivianos just to stay there from 12 to 8 PM, which is way overpriced for what you get. But at least we got the rest of your money back and went to a more...
Read moreI was excited for my stay at Inca’s room hotel, based on reviews. I was left hoping for a little more, considering a lot of Airbnb’s were cheaper and still had more offerings than this hotel. ||First and foremost, service was always friendly and kind, they helped answer all questions I had. The bedrooms are simple and rather charming, but basic. You must request towels and they don’t have heating nor hair dryers in the room.||The icing on the cake was that I decided to go for this hotel because they accepted credit/debit cards—so it says on every website and even has stickers on the door, instead of booking an Airbnb. I thought, “I will be contributing to the community and I’ll have breakfast or lunch there and maybe book a tour”. Which I did, but when it came time to pay, the receptionist said they couldn’t take card...no reason why...when I saw her charge a lady in the morning, who was paying with a CC! This made me upset and I wouldn’t have booked this place if they didn’t take my form of payment. I had to use USD from my reserve, not the end of the world but a burden! Please book and Airbnb or another...
Read moreOur 1-night stay at Inkas Room was ok. We were there on the "La Paz Day" holiday, so there was partying, noise, lights, and fireworks happening in the streets all night, but that's not the hotel's fault.||||It's good to know that the location shown on the Booking dot com map was incorrect. It was about 5 blocks down the street. The address listed on booking is correct though. Luckily we're savvy travellers and were able to figure it out (without the internet, I might add!)||||When we arrived, we told the front desk we had to leave early the next morning for a flight. They offered to organize a taxi in the morning (which they did) and to put out breakfast a couple hours early (which they didn't do, sadly).||||We paid on check-in so we didn't have to deal with paying early in the morning. The hotel's credit card machine didn't work so we had to tap into our precious USD cash reserves to pay, sadly.||||The room was basic but ok. We got a room with 4 twin beds and an attached private bathroom. There was lots of hot water in the shower.||||It was an ok stay in La Paz...
