Arcadia Balkan Grill — Restaurant in Sofia City

Typical old school place to grab a quick bite. That means non-existent customer service (read - terrible), average food and average ambiance.

While I was talking about what I could order, the waitress unbeknownst to me placed the order - while we were still standing up and wondering whether to stay in the restaurant.

I was happy with the main but wanted to change the soup (tarator). The waitress - even though she still hadn't brought it out - refused. She said she's "submitted the order". And talking about a cold soup, it's pretty bemusing to see how that could be a problem from whichever way you look at it. Best thing was - it was the worst of all the dishes we ordered, so a double whammy 😆

In summary: Avoid If you are desperate, don't expect any customer service and avoid the tarator. The "bob chorba" was alright while everything else was slightly cold (including the "kashkaval pane"!!) and average tasting. Much better...

We came for dinner based on the many positive reviews, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the expectations.

To start with, even though we sat in the non-smoking area, the smell of smoke was very strong and unpleasant we left with our clothes smelling like cigarettes.

As for the food: the kids’ chicken nuggets were cold and oily, the fries were okay but lacked flavor. The salmon dish was a bit dry, and the vegetables served with it were overly greasy. The kebab dish was decent.

Overall, the atmosphere was stuffy and filled with cigarette smoke, which really took away from the experience, especially considering we were in the non-smoking section.

The prices were relatively high compared to other restaurants, which might have been fine if the overall experience had...

Me and my husband went here for our final meal in Sophia. We ordered Hunkyar beyandi, menu said it was lamb, aubergine and vegetables and yogurt adana was minced lamb with yogurt and tomato sauce but didn’t have a clue what the meal is going to be like so I ordered rice as well (turns out we don’t need it)😁. The dish was a full meal in itself and after one bite, it was like Oh my! This is delicious! We were very pleased with the food, it was very tasty and service is fantastic. The waiter was helpful and professional. He even turned on the heater for us. Bit pricy...
