Start of a 5 night stay at the hotel and I’m already regretting. Arrived around 11am and asked lady at check-in if I can get a room yet. She parrots that check-in is at 2pm but she will see if there is a room available early. Asks me to take a seat.
I do so. It’s now 11.42am - approached her asking what time does she expects a room to be available. She again parrots the 2pm check-in time. I mention that the hotel is unlikely to be full given its low season (rainy season), her retort is that check out is at 12noon so people will only check out at 12noon. In the 45mins I’ve been waiting, not a single soul has checked out. Glancing at the “colour codes” on her computer screen, my guess is occupancy is less than 50%…. Yet, they refuse to offer a room, probably hoping I will offer some money to get access early.
Sadly, a common modus operandi across many budget hotels but just means I’ll likely scout for a different hotel for my next visit.
If they are in a position to help but refuse just for the heck of it, don’t think I will give them my future business.
Update 1: Went out and had 4 beers before returning… At 1.45 - room was available. Receptionist was polite and informative. Good save. Feel better about her now.
Room is satisfactory for what they are charging. Mattress on bed is firm enough. AC is a little weak but I won’t complain. Room is old but looks sufficiently clean for budget accommodation.
Update 2: After a 5 night stay, I must say I enjoyed myseld and apart from having to wait for my room on check in, the room was comfortable and the service staff were all friendly and helpful.

Read moreComing now to Phnom Penh for about 10 years, it's one of the first times that I'm quite happy. A working bathroom over 14 days, and believe me that's not a given in PNH. They made up the room even when I left the hotel late in the afternoon. Rates that beat almost every other place I stayed. For the bugs, I would identify them as tiny flies, they decided to stay in the sink in the bathroom, I could easily live with that agreement. The aircon had problems to get the room cooled down properly, but it was within my limits, so I didn't tell them, only when it ceased working after a while I adressed it to the receptionist, it was fixed within 2-3 hours. Actually I should rate them only 1 star, to make sure it's not fully booked when I plan my next visit, but that would be pretty selfish 😂
Unfortunately, I have to revise my former review. The rooms are still alright, but the hired a new staff member. To make a long story short, I just figured out that I paid double on my last visit, once by an online booking platform and once to said staff member. He's been the only one around on a Sunday morning, and wasn't able to operate the credit card terminal. So I ended up paying him cash, not knowing at that time that I shouldn't have paid anything. At least he should have known, that he wasn't able to operate the credit card, almost smells like a scam. Under those circumstances I rather looking for...
Read moreMy stay at Le Vincent Hotel was a complete disappointment. The staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional, especially the front desk lady who showed zero empathy towards my concerns. I booked a deluxe double room, but I was provided with a cheaper and unclean room that had insufficient lighting and a fused bulb. The AC didn't work properly, and the room had an unpleasant smell all the time.
To make matters worse, the towels they provided were not washed and had stains all over them. When I complained, the staff simply told me to wash them myself if needed. At checkout, they charged me an extra $10 for the stains on the towels, which I didn't even create.
Additionally, the hotel is located opposite a 5-storied slam building, and men from that building stare at you whenever you go to the balcony. The washroom had brown color towels, and I doubt when they were last washed. I requested to make up the room on the 2nd day, but the staff harshly denied it.
The noise level from nearby music and sounds was high till late at night, making it impossible to sleep. In conclusion, I strongly advise avoiding this hotel as you will find much better accommodations at...
