Harmony Phnom Penh Hotel — Hotel in Khan Daun Penh

So unbelievable the hotel Harmony that we r staying at here is so unfriendly totally opposite to their name n our stay at Golden Temple Group. ||The hotel’s location is good but there is no service in this hotel. Many of the staff do not speak well here. From time we arrived at the front desk i felt they were slightly rude as they tried to point out what they did not want guests to do n kept harping on the fines they could impose on us. Initially i brushed it off as perhaps their english was just not great n moved on. ||Then a day at the pool side, i ordered a burger n a plate of fruits. we waited 45 mins for both i had to chase for my food then the burger came n still no fruits, n then had to chase again finally i wanted to cancel it but they insisted i could not do so n brought it anyways. ||Today is New Year’s Eve and we paid $60 USD to get a seat on the roof top deck for the hotel party this includes 4 bottles of beer n a very small plate of french fries. All other food is extra. Harmony served me cold steak so i sent it back n then they said they would change it then it came out again n for the 2nd time again the steak was cold ! I went back to their kitchen n asked for the chef n this lady middle aged lady was so rude she said that this is how they serve it n she wasn’t going to do anything about it, the only thing she said in a very rude manner was she wanted to cancel it. I said i will write a review n she said its ok go ahead. Incredible so messed up to deal with this on new year’s eve they treat their customers like this. We will not be returning back here n you should not waste your time with this place. for this amount that they charge for their rooms n food you have plenty of other choices...

Positives: |- The staff were so nice and friendly. |- Reception staff spoke pretty good English.|- The room was well presented and clean|- Beds were comfortable |- Shower was good|- Location was good for getting around |- Communal hotel areas were really well presented||Negatives:|- We booked this hotel largely because it looked like it had a well equipped gym, we're travelling for 4 weeks and into our fitness so a gym was essential. Unfortunately, the gym was so hot it was basically unusable. The air conditioning only turns on when you put the room card into a slot so the room is around 30 degrees and the one tiny aircon unit is nowhere near enough to cool it down. My husband was sick from trying to workout in the heat and I had to cut my sessions short. I complained and they said they'd turn it on 30mins before if I went down to reception to ask, but it made no difference because its so hot and the aircon was so poor. 30 degrees is not acceptable for a gym|- The aircon in your room turns off when you leave the room and take your room key out. If you have a spare room key and leave it on, they will take it out when they come to clean your room. So you have a choice between having your room cleaned and coming back to a 30+ degrees room or not having you room cleaned but coming back to a relaxing temp room.|- The policies treat you like you're all potential criminals who are going to trash the room. There was a list of charges for any item thats damaged ($18 for a damaged tissue box?! See photo)||TLDR: Lovely hotel and staff, but the owners are more bothered about saving money at every opportunity than the guest experience. Don't book if you want to...

What a flash new hotel it really feels like a 5 star hotel but your only paying 3 star prices. As you walk in you are greeted by excellent service right at the door. Some of the sculptures in the hotel lobby are amazing pure works of art. The service at the counter is top notch. Unbelievable free breakfast with as much choice as a full buffet and real coffee done how you want ( latte, cappuccino ). So good for us coffee addicts. Real clean and well set out rooms great showers all the normal extras like satellite tv, coffee tea jug and safe plus your own balcony. As I look over my balcony I was greeted by one of the real local food markets . You can spend hours watching the locals buy there fresh food . You could see the fish still swimming in there buckets ready for sale. So real. Have a walk through you will see veg and fruit produce that you have never seen before. The roof top sky pool and spa is just awesome, you can swim right up to the edge of the hotel roof and look over if your game ( very safe there is no way of falling over) . Then you can go another level up to the sky bar and restaurant with magnificent views. The menu is a mix of local and western food so everyone is satisfied.
