Very inconsistent food!!! 14500 riels with an iced tea. This is typical in Cambodia.. once a restaurant is gaining enough customers they'll lacked in taste and service. ps: hygiene is not their goal!!! As for the bread, rock hard dehydrated to the max. Compared to "Phú Quốc", it's like heaven & hell! All their baguettes in Phú Quốc from a few restaurants I've been are at least 90% fresh and their "Bò kho" is never ever slimy like this restaurant! Probably by adding cornstarch.. Contrary this beef stew "Bò kho" imitation has no carrots and is served with a tiny bit of rice paddy herb. {Traditionally Vietnamese beef stew is served with some culantro & Thai basil!} It's obvious to me because in Cambodia, the rice paddy herb is probably the cheapest but culantro is the most expensive. Oh, the piece of lime is super fresh! Sike..
PS: The reply from this restaurant is pretty much senseless & distorted.. Well, just ask around in Cambodia what this dish originally from. But the easiest way is to check the pix from others and you'll see some culantro sometimes on the same dish. It's not with nice misleaded diversion words for the public to read that you run a restaurant business especially nowadays with GOOGLE MAP reviews!!! I'm just being honest and truthful.. And to comment to a customer about staying home and to self cooking because of a lack of money is not too professional. I'd never complained about any prices of any restaurants for the simple reason: the prices are printed on the menus. But rather on the quality of the food! In Cambodia, I've ordered some beers in pubs that averages $4 a bottle.. Sure I could of stay home and drink some Heineken beers for $1 a bottle.. It's not the point of why people going out. Bottom line is that some people on our planet will never admit their own faults ever. But instead behave with a manipulative style.. like what I've seen with what happened to the...
Read morePlace is usually busy, opens early and also closes early, I see some mixed reviews, and I fully understand why, it is not a place that focuses necessary on quality and service, you get to eat there, and that's all you get. Simplistic corner open spot, not what I call a clean looking by any western standard, it is dirty but not to the point where you would not eat there, plenty of choices for food, thankfully one card with 2 sides, I chosen beef noodle soup and it was just OK, and then beef with steering fried noodles, very little beef, I dumped it into the beef broth and that's all she wrote, iced coffee is terrible, like somone fell and dumped kilo of sugar in jt, I asked about the ice and where it comes from, and I got no answer due to no English, in conclusion, you'll get to eat there, and if you have low expectations, the place will do just...
Read morePerfect! I think it all comes down to expectations—best to keep them low and try to enjoy and embrace local customs and cuisine. The broth was delicious in both the 1 and 126 specials (don’t remember the number on menu exactly). The meat in the first one was just nice peppery meatballs and cuts of pork (I think, more safe choice) In the special, there was a bit more of a mix - some liver and other innards - but still good! The atmosphere was really nice. Service was nothing more, nothing less - than I would expect, kind but reserved. Overall, a really nice experience. I appreciated the mix of locals and tourists. Great food...
