Ostro Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Khan Daun Penh

30% discount on steaks on thursday nights, which was an unexpected but very welcome surprise.

I like how their Wagyu steaks come in whatever size you choose. I ordered a 400g wagyu, which was perfectly cooked. Juicy & succulent, possibly the best I've had in Cambodia - and after both visiting and living here over 15years+, I've tried most of Phnom Penh's steakhouses at some point. The steak comes with your choice of a side - the truffle mash was delicious. With some grilled mushrooms, green salad and dipping sauce on the side, my meal was excellent.

As for the service at Ostro Bistro - the service was fast & friendly without hovering, and someone came around a few bites into the steak to check everything was okay.

I will certainly be back again - multiple times - to try the other menu offerings (although I'll probably just end up ordering steaks again each time 😄 ).

Ostro Bistro is definitely one of the best restaurants along the Riverside strip, and among one of the best in Phnom Penh overall. The prices aren't cheap, but what you get in terms of quality & service is worth what you pay.

Went to this bar for a few drinks, sat ourselves because the waitresses were chatting with each other. Waved at them several times expecting service and they still didn't bother to come over. After about 4 min of so they finally took our drink order. They pretty much paid us not attention and when we wanted more drinks had to wave continually to get noticed.

By the third drink we just decided to leave, shouldn't need to work so hard to get attention of the staff to get served. Very inattentive staff on a Friday night with 6 waitresses and not a lot of customers. Management needs to train the staff. Less chatting with each other.

One bright spot the live music was decent. Not too loud and could sing pretty well so I'll change to 3 stars. Needs...

Always an enjoyable experience; if I feel comfortable, I always return. The staff are engaging and most importantly speak very good English, which really helps and is a pleasure. The live music is brilliant. The food and drink prices are completely competitive, especially given the location, being so close to the Riverside. It works and ticks all the boxes ; The girls work really well the management treat the customers with respect especially being such a competitive market, they easily meet their customer needs with an excellent standard of service. Lastly; there is an excellent manager who is top class. Phanna. I don't give credit easy, he is a top professional and deserves acknowledgment, he controls this business with ease.
