Booked Okay Palace before I read the negative reviews. My experience was somewhat different. For the price paid I think it was good value and will stay again.
Check in took 1 hour. There was confusion and they initially told us that they were full (I had printed confirmation from Agoda booked 2 months ahead). They wanted us to move to the OK Boutique (same owner, same street). I politely and firmly said no, I want the double delux room paid for. After some time was invited to see a room on 11th floor. This was exactly what I had booked and the room was fine. Just as expected. It did have a view over the construction site next door but staff told us working hours only 8am to 5pm which turned out to be true. There was contstant banging and grinding but it was not what I would call loud or intrusive. Others may differ in opinion. Quite why they said they had no rooms is still a mystery. Maybe they were worried we would complain about the construction.
Pool on the roof was OK and good views over the city. Staff were very nice although young.
Room was clean and bed comfy. Linens were clean and fine. Towels a little bit thin. Water was hot in the shower but pressure flow could have been a bit better. Did not eat breakfast or dine at the hotel. Lots of nice options nearby. The hotel Tuk Tuk drivers in the street were friendly and honest but fares cheaper on grab taxi app.
WiFi was OK. Not fast but it did work fine.
I hope this helps anyone thinking of booking. If you need 5 star and room service (at a higher price) then the Hyatt Regency is a few...
Read moreOur experience at the Okay Palace Hotel was very disappointing. We stayed in a triple room for three nights.
On the first day, breakfast was included. On the second day, when we extended our stay, we specifically asked if breakfast was still included and requested a breakfast coupon. They repeatedly said “OK,” so we assumed breakfast was covered and had it without issue. Up to that point, they never informed us that breakfast was not included.
On the third day, when we went for breakfast, they told us our names weren’t on the list. We had confirmed it before extending the stay, which is why we decided to keep the room. The hotel should have clearly explained that breakfast wasn’t included when we extended the stay. However, when we checked out, they charged us an additional $50 for breakfast. This was completely unfair, given that they had previously confirmed it was included.
Furthermore, we requested housekeeping, but they didn’t clean the room even once during our stay. The worst part was that the room wasn’t properly cleaned when we first checked in, and we found new 3 condoms and 1 used condom left by previous guests under the be.
We had an enjoyable stay overall, but we will never stay here again due to your poor customer service. Additionally, I suggest hiring staff at the reception who can...
Read moreThe worst hotel that I ever stayed. For cleanliness, I found 1 used condom and 3 new condoms under the bed. The staff didn’t clean my room even I asked the receptionist to clean my room. The staff didn’t refill the items in my room(water bottle, toothbrush, tissue and etc). I have stayed at Okay Palace Hotel for 3 days. In the first day, I booked a room which is including breakfast from Agoda app and it’s worth $37USD per day. At the second day, I told the receptionist for extension and she said it was $30USD per day so I asked her that the breakfast is also included? But she said it’s okay so I thought that $30USD is including breakfast. When I checked-out the room, they want me to pay more $50.4USD for breakfast. I was surprised because I thought I already paid for breakfast and the room. I told her about that but she was just saying the room with breakfast is $50USD. Actually the first receptionist should tell me exactly how much we need to pay for the room with breakfast but she only said it’s okay. This is the staff’s mistake but they don’t take responsibility for their false. Show to your manager about this review. I am not satisfied with your...
