First, the good: 1) The location is unbeatable and the price was quite reasonable. Breakfast was basic but quite tasty. Our room was spotless. ||||2) They offer many different tour services if you want to see the temples. The staff were friendly and did their best to help, despite a significant language barrier. (My Khmer is not great, either, so I can't complain too much!) ||||3) We hired their tuk-tuk driver to take us to a few temples and a local spot for lunch on our last day. This was easily the highlight of our trip. The food was excellent and it was really cool to share a meal with such a kind young man. He had great suggestions for non-temple attractions, as well!||||The not so good: 1) They offered to send a tuk-tuk to pick us up from the airport but there was no indication that this was at an additional cost. Upon arrival, we tipped our driver but the hotel manager said, "He is hoping to have a real job from you. That's why he picked you up for free." This exchange instantly left me with a bad taste in my mouth. We would have been happy to just pay for the airport transfer, but instead I felt as though we were guilted into hiring him for something else. ||||2) The hotel boasts 24 hour front desk services but when we went to the desk and asked if they could help us make a reservation at a local restaurant, we were told that we could not make phone calls. Maybe just a miscommunication? Not sure.||||3) There was no hot water in our room. We didn't mind because it was so hot outside and a cold shower was refreshing but this might be a deal breaker for some travelers. ||||4) We had a sunrise tour booked for one of the days and we asked if we could get breakfast to go. It was very kind of them to accommodate the request but the meal was nothing more than 3 different ultra-sweet muffins/cakes in a styrofoam container. ||||5) It's not the hotel's fault, but there was construction going on at the building next door, starting at 7am everyday, and the noise made it very difficult to sleep. Even with the fan and AC on, it was like they were jackhammering inside our room. We had a roadside room so street noise was a bit of a problem at night. The view of the river is not a selling point. The river is filthy and...
Read moreWe only stay at this hotel for one night but it was perfect for our needs. ||The location was excellent, 5 minutes from pub street, where a lot of bars and restaurants are, the night market is also very close. The room was excellent, clean, quite large and nicely decorated.||Although the staffs English isn’t the best, they put us in touch with a tuk tuk driver to take us to do the Angkor wat tour, $20 with free bottles of water for the small tour. We had a flight out of Siem Reap airport the same night so we negotiated an extra $5 for him to take us there at a later time during that day.||We spoke to the staff of the night of our check in explaining that as we were going to Angkor wat for sunrise was it possible to leave our bags in our room and collect them after we finish. As the hotel had the room available we were able to do this. As we finished our trip to Angkor wat, we had a couple of hour to kill before we had to leave for the airport. Again we asked the staff is it possible for us to sit in the room for another 2 hours until our tuk tuk driver came to collect us and they agreed this was ok. ||Excellent customer service. Would you 100%...
