I stayed from Oct 20-21 for 1 night for my birthday. Everything is good in the hotel until the morning I checked out, I realized someone got in my car. I checked and lost my old phone, ipad and car camera is gone ( I guess they are scared of camera recording so they took it). I parked my car in front of the restaurant side- the 6th spot from the road near the hotel entrance, I saw they have one camera so decided to check with front desk to see the camera footage. The lady ( who turns out to be General Manager of Hotel) talked (like its obvious and she knew it would happen) she does not have access to the camera (so what is the camera for?) and even she did not try to put any effort to help me and showed no sympathy (until I said it and she said she felt sorry for me, what a GENERAL MANAGER OF A HOTEL). She told me that the night auditor always sits by the window and can see the spot of my car (so it never happens??) but it did and a person can not stay at one place forever, they have to do other stuffs not just sitting there to look outside. I told her it may happen from 7-9pm and I don’t blame the hotel, i just want to see the person who got in my car and stole my things!! She told me only myself parked car at that spot which is for checkin people only, i told her I paid for the parking, and the person who checked me in did not mention abt the parking inside the gate, even so, there is noone in the gate to watch for you, it means somebody still can steal your stuffs. She pointed at the board saying the hotel is not responsible for lost damaged stuffs. Honestly everyone, I don’t try to get my things back from the hotel, I know its not their fault and its guest responsibility to keep things safe, the only thing I want is to just see the camera. Omg. And the manager just tried to talk abt nonsense things, that the hotel did not do anything, blabla. Even no sympathy for what gst is suffering. She does not deserve to work in hospitality industry. What a shame! I can feel and see in her eyes the discrimination she had in her look. She might think I just made up the story. For your reference, I checked my car, the thief checked everything in my car around 7-10 (I came back around 9:45p from the keg and saw something unusual but did not notice more). They checked everywhere in the car, even the back trunk where I stored my spare wheels, can you guys imagine I parked my car by the entrance where is bright, and they even did it. Be careful when you stay in this area. And you know one thing for sure that the hotel won’t support you for...
Read moreMy recent stay at the Fairfield Inn, ideally situated within walking distance to Clifton Hill and numerous restaurants, left me with genuinely mixed feelings. While the location is undeniably a prime asset, several significant issues within the hotel detracted from an otherwise convenient trip.
The hotel's location is a huge plus. Being able to walk to all the attractions and dining options around Clifton Hill made exploring incredibly easy and convenient. This was certainly the best aspect of our stay. The complimentary breakfast was also a good start to our day; we opted to have it twice and found it satisfactory.
However, our experience in the room was problematic. From the moment we entered, there was a persistent musty odor. I unfortunately coughed the entire time I was in the room, leading me to believe there are definite mold issues that need to be addressed.
Housekeeping was also inconsistent. On our second day, our room was not cleaned at all, though the front desk promptly provided clean towels when requested. We also found hair in our tub upon arrival; while someone was sent up quickly to clean it, a bottle of cleaner was inexplicably left behind in our room. On the third day, our room was only cleaned in the evening, which was inconvenient. Adding to this discomfort, despite the front desk telling us we could stay in the room, the cleaner specifically requested we leave, which left us feeling quite "off."
Another issue was our room's fridge, which was not working correctly. Instead of chilling, it froze several drinks we had purchased. We were disappointed not to be reimbursed for these spoiled items and had to purchase more drinks.
Despite these frustrations, I must extend a very special thank you to Samantha at the front desk. She was exceptionally friendly, very attentive, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed in our room. She even allowed us to store our luggage after check-out, providing us with extra time to go for lunch before catching our bus, which was incredibly helpful and deeply appreciated. Samantha's outstanding service was a definite highlight.
In summary, while the Fairfield Inn boasts an unbeatable location and exceptional staff members like Samantha, the significant issues with room condition (musty smell/mold), inconsistent cleaning, and the faulty fridge considerably impacted our overall experience. Were it not for these room-specific problems, our stay would have been much...
Read moreWe arrived at location around 11:30 am on Sunday morning for a Sunday checkin and Monday checkout.
It was fully booked, so we left our luggage at checkin counter.
As mariott gold elite member, person at checkin counter didnt even recognize us or offered any upgrades or showed any gratitude for loyalty. This is sub-par as compared to other places we have been to. We were asked for credit card for $200 charge for the file, we were fine with that
We came back at 3 pm for checkin, room was provided promptly. There was nothing special about room, no view, smallest of the window and nothing else apart from flashing name on the TV screen.
Water is not provided complimentary here, if you want to buy water or any other amenities. When asked about free water, we were told that we can bring our own bottles and they will help us get water from the gym located next to lobby.
Keurig coffee machine is provided in rooms with sugar and stirrer but no creamer or milk is provided.
Housekeeping was also limited, and they also had a notice about it on the frontdesk.
Beds were comfortable.
Air-conditioning worked only if you set temperature to 19 degrees, for 20 degrees it started blowing heat not even normal air.
Now coming to breakfast.
They kept running out of stuff at 9:30 am and lot of people were waiting for refills for the breakfast items.
The day we had breakfast they had Cheese omlette, veggie patty, muffin with bacon and egg, fries, boiled eggs, fresh apples, couple of baked goods, bread toast
Some options for vegetarian people in our party.
Juices from fountain were literally sugar syrup.
Breakfast is from 6:30 am to 10 am.
Now coming to checkout, with mariott status we were eligible for 2 pm late checkout. When we asked frontdesk they told maximum they can let us be there is till 12:30 pm
After asking about 2 pm checkout they pushed it to 1pm.
I mean what's the use of status of loyalty if locations are not going to honor it and one has to push your luck everytime you visit a hotel.
This hotel doesn't carry any WeGo passes either.
Parking is paid I guess at 20 or 25 bucks.
Overall experience was average for being a mariott property.
I hope they improve themselves else I have no motivation to get platinum elite seeing such performance from...
