Ok, what to say about this little gem of a place lol. Gem is being sarcastic btw. The ONLY good thing about this place is the location. Basically right next to Clifton Hill is a big plus. But that's where it ends. Luckily, for me and my family we don't care much about what isn't good here but I'm sure most might. Door handle was loose and falling off the door, alarm clock didn't work (which is why is was probably placed hidden in a drawer) there was a tv, but can't say if it worked or not since we didn't touch it once. It was probably just made of cardboard anyways and not even real. We had 1 and a half coat hangers for 4 of us. The shower head sprayed water all over and the shower diverter was broken to switch from bath to shower. But hey, the bathtub and walls were clean. There's no phone in the room, no housekeeping to give you clean towels or sheets on your bed...like other places we stayed at for the same price (thriftlodge). The heat worked good tho.. thankfully. I could swear the pillows were stuffed with toilet paper and bumpy. Now besides all the complaining, like I said it didn't bother us because we're more of the leave us alone and stay out of our room type people..but this is info for those looking to stay here. Would I stay here again? Probably to be honest, just because of the location (if thriftlodge has no rooms). Because we spend very very little time in our motel room when visiting Niagara Falls. Basically sleep, shower and change. So that's my review. Take it for what it's worth. I totally forgot to grab pictures of inside the room..but it's exactly what you'd see in almost every other hotel at the same price...
Read moreThis hotel was... not horrible. And that's the best thing I can say. The location was great! Not too far from the attractions but not too close to the noise. About a 10 minute walk to the Falls (give or take). However... it felt very dirty. There were strange stains on our sheets, our room lights were a bit finicky... long story short.. what you pay for is what you get. I wasn't expecting splendour, but I certainly wasn't prepared for what I received at the Victoria Motor Inn (VMI) either. I absolutely would have paid extra to get a room at another hotel during my first night at the VMI... by the second night I was kind of accustomed to the.. grime. But it is not the type of hotel where you would feel comfortable relaxing in. ALSO, the mattress was awful (90% sure the springs are broken) and I was scared to put my head on a pillow as it felt lumpy and looked... well.. like not something I wanted to put my head on. Finally, the walls are paper thin. We had neighbour's chatting up a storm at 3am... and we could.. unfortunately.. hear every word.
Basically: if you're looking for something cheap and you don't care about cleanliness, this hotel is fine. But if you're a bit of a germaphobe... I wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreIll give it a 5 on 5 cause I am a simple person and not one of those snowflakes that looks for the cheapest prices and expect Red Carpet treatment. I mean, I got the room only to have a place to sleep, chill and wash up. So with that said.
Rooms were clean Room service I had no complaints about. 2 Beds for myself and 2 kids. Wifi was not a problem Air conditioning was pretty good. OMG the pressure from the shower I thought I was going to be blasted right out of the bathtub it was immense hahaha. BTW, that's actually a good thing. Took about 10 seconds to rinse my hair (I have long hair too) Justin and the other people were pretty cool and down to earth. Location was great literally a few minutes from Clifton Hill. I really can't find anything bad to say about this place.
Bonus
When I got there, I found out my room was on the third floor. I was like aww (in a funny way) and Justin did a couple of mouse clicks and smiled at me and said, "There, ground level". Totally awesome. Of course I tell me kids we have to lugs the bags up 3 flights of stairs, cause you know, dads... :-)
I booked them through Expedia and checked out amenities before I booked so for me, this place was my choice...
