Posh Hotel.Great guest service. One of the Best Hotels in Niagara Falls area. Walkable to Niagara Falls & Clifton Hills.
Sterling Inn & Spa of Niagara Falls is a Luxury Hotel that features Rooms, Suites, a Restaurant and a Spa!
Things I adored during my stay@Sterling : Motion Sensor lighting in Suite Huge Bathroom with Tub & separate Shower area(rare to find in Canada hotels) The 'Breakfast-in-Bed' concept of this Hotel is unique Fireplace inside Suite
Special thanks to David from Reception team for making our stay so memorable! David made CheckIn quite a smooth experience. He also accommodated one of the two guest-requests I made while Booking. Loved the Room he assigned to us! Miss Navdeep from Reception helped with a hassle-free checkout.
WHAT WAS GOOD?
Rich interiors, Designer touch in everything which is missing in other Hotels Tastefully done Rooms & Spacious Bathrooms (I stayed in a huge Suite. Loved the huge tub) Fabulous Sleep quality! Top notch Furniture & fixtures. High quality Bath Robes, Fireplace in room, Motion- Sensor lightings even! 24 hrs Coffee machine near Reception Rare hotel in Niagara Falls area that offers Complimentary Breakfast sent over to Room Hotel Reception team is fantastic. Housekeeping team has to improve, though. Conveniently Located, Sterling Hotel is at a walking distance from Clifton hill which is a major tourist hub. Clifton hill falls between Sterling hotel & Niagara falls. Many restaurants within walking distance The area of Hotel is quiet & peaceful, which I loved.
WHAT WAS NOT GOOD? Almost perfect! Below listed are some callouts though,
No fall-view rooms. We knew this while booking, but Niagara falls are just at a walking distance so it didn't matter much. The quality of stay of Sterling is better than most of the fall-view hotels. I booked it after a good amount of research.
This Hotel is not flexible towards late check out requests, while they have their justified reasons for the same. Probably, luggage storage is possible at reception.
The Housekeeping team needs to be trained better. They lack both, skill & will to help guests. There was a particular person from housekeeping team who denied to clear used plates from our room more than once. Apparently, the housekeeping staff asked us to keep the used dinner plate in our room till we check out. He wasn't even allowing us to keep it outside room. With that rude response from housekeeping, we had to call the reception to sort this out. Funny! Isn’t it their basic job?
Unlike other Luxury 5 Star Hotels, I guess this Hotel does not have the culture to wish their guests on special occasions like Birthday, Anniversary etc. We had shared with Hotel that we are staying for Birthday. However, not even a wish or any kind of gesture from this hotel to wish us. We travel across globe. Usually if we are in a 5 star on Birthdays, they surprise us by some decor, or a small cake may be.
If the Hotel considers a renovation in future, 2 suggestions : A Water kettle in room would be a nice touch. The current option is that if a guest wants hot water for tea even in midnight, they need to go to reception area.
A hand shower in Jetted tub or Shower area will be a nice touch. Adds to the luxury quotient of your beautiful bathrooms!
These are not showstoppers, but more of a suggestion to Sterling...
Read moreDecided to try this location after seeing reviews. Couldn't have been happier in location, price, service! When we got there, we went through the AG restaurant entrance and couldn't find the front desk. Lack of signage was a little confusing but we figured it out.
Front desk staff was always very friendly and helped with everything we needed promptly. Checking in and out was super easy.
The room was a great size and clean. Plenty of close outlets for plugging in all your devices, shelves to put them on, etc. Mini fridge also had a freezer which I hardly ever see.
Breakfast was brought to us each morning as part of the room, which I liked.
I would definitely stay here again. While it was not close enough to have a view of the falls, it was a block away from all the fun carnival- style area near the Sky Wheel. Great for kids 50 years old and younger! Older than that, you might want to stay in Niagara Lake by the vineyards.
Things I didn't like or wasn't happy with/ constructive criticism:
I feel there should be a place to eat the breakfast with chairs. There's more than enough space in the room and it would have been nice to have a nook.
The breakfast had a type of egg each day and we got hard-boiled two days in a row. I didn't like that but the quiche was very good. The rest of breakfast was very good and I recommend the additional pastries for an extra cost.
The bed wasn't very comfortable. It was way too firm for us. I would normally deduct a star for this considering it's a hotel, but everything else was so good I decided not to.
The TV had virtually no channels to watch. Everything was cut off and wanted a subscription. Couldn't connect the TV to our personal services either. Some hotels have smart TVs where you can do that and it's just a better experience.
I'm not a fan of bathroom switches on the outside of the room. You have to open the door with the light on which disturbed the other person in the room. Not a major issue but it's something hotels should consider.
I'll give the restaurant and spa their own reviews but both were really good! Canada has a very rigorous education system for massage and will be better than most other places. The massages were really good! Recommend the longer session!
The restaurant was pretty good too. Drinks were great! Apple cider was amazing and also the chocolate martini. Wasn't busy at all but it was the off season.
Overall, amazing stay and we had much more fun than we thought we would! Would definitely return!

Read moreI had booked a room, dinner, and spa services for my spouse's birthday here at Sterling and was not disappointed! Greg at the front desk was personable and informative. The check-in process was quick and easy and the lobby offered complimentary coffee and tea. Location was perfectly situated by Clifton Hill and Stanley Ave which were within walking distance. On-site parking is available at $18 which we opted for for peace of mind, but there is $10 all-day parking across the street.
The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable (but not sink and drown in comfort comfy), and the bathroom had both a jacuzzi and a rain shower head shower with body jets. The faux rose petals and tea lights I requested were littered around the room and the beautiful, fresh dozen roses I requested were front and centre as we walked in; the staff even wrote my spouse a personalized birthday greeting! One of the only gripes I had with the room was that when we walked in, there was a noticeable odour in the room which sort of had a stale smell. We opened the window and the smell dissipated by the time we got back in the evening after venturing around Clifton Hills.
My spouse and I had a few appointments at the spa where we were in for just under 3 hours. Nicole at spa services was very helpful in the booking process. I do recommend booking ahead of time, but please note that it's phone booking only. My spouse and I had a 55-minute couples massage with Jen and Steve. From what my spouse says, Jen is wonderful, but from my personal experience, Steve is a master of his craft! We also had facials and a hand and feet treatment with Carly and Nicole which were very relaxing! Our faces, hands, and feet felt so soft all day!
Overall, I would come back and book special events at Sterling Inn again. The staff was lovely, the hotel was quaint yet elegant, the spa services were relaxing and a treat, and I haven't even started on AG Inspired Cuisine! Again, my spouse and I did notice that stench in the room and in certain parts of the hotel, but our overall experience far outweighs this miniscule detail. Bravo, Sterling. See you...
