After seeing all of the excellent reviews I (and my party) were disappointed with our experience. "2 Stars - Disliked It" TLDR; When in Revelstoke take your business elsewhere, there are plenty of other well reviewed establishments that are much more worthy of your time and dollars. The theme of the evening was to take an order, come back 5-10 minutes later and tell us they actually didn't have that item it stock. This started with the drink order, the order was taken, 5 minutes later the server came back and told us they no longer had the drink available. No alternatives were suggested. No matter we'll look over the menu and try again. Next came the main course, the order was placed, 10 minutes later the server comes back and informs us that they don't have the one of main courses available. Keep in mind this is a small restaurant (the size of modest main floor home), the menu is two pages long and we were there at 6:30pm on a weekday. Again no alternatives suggested, so back to the menu we go to find something else to order. The speed at which the food came out was acceptable and the accuracy was spot on (assuming you eventually found something they actually had). I had the Chubby burger topped with cheese, fried pineapple and "poutinized" my fries. The portion size was on the smaller side, no overly so, but noticeable. The burger was very good, however the poutine was bland and the fries soggy. The final annoyance of the night was the bill. I don't like being nickeled & dimed by restaurants and however I don't mind paying a fair upgrade charge. In my case the burger included my choice of side. Looking at the "sides" portion of the menu the choices were: Tater Tots $2.99, Poutine $3.99, Caesar Salad $3.99, Panzanella Salad $3.99, Rice & Beans $3.99, Confit Potato $2.99). Imagine my surprise when I see the "upgrade" charge for the poutine was $2.99. Seriously, 3 bucks to add gravy and cheese on the fries. Fair enough, I should've asked. But then another member of my party added the confit potato to their order and here they were charged full price $2.99 instead of an "upgrade" price. If you're going to charge full price, then the entrée should've also come with the "side" that is included in the price as well. At this point my patience has worn thin and it is clear for us to cut our losses, pay the bill, leave and share a detailed review for others to take their business elsewhere.

Its my first time stopping at Revelstoke on the way to Vancouver, I was expecting to have disappointing dining experiences along the way as I had in the past. BUT OH MY! Chubby Funsters Kitchen will now become my go to stop anytime I am passing by Revelstoke, heck I might even drive 5 hours from Calgary just to dine here and have an amazing dining experience! The food is delicious, fresh and sophisticated in an accessible way! Meaning that my family who eats Halal was able to find items on the menu that appeased our taste and religious teachings. The staff are warm and welcoming! Parking was a breeze and it was easy to spot the location of the restaurant! Thank you Chubby Funsters! Youve earned a customer for life!

We arrived in Revelstoke for a wedding on Friday. All four of us were first timers in the quaint town.

We drove around, walked around and decided to check out this gem.

We were greeted by the young hostess and immediately offered our choice of table. We arrived a little bit earlier than their dinner rush which allowed us time to get to know our surroundings and chat with our server (Sarah) who was great.

Beer came, shooters came.

We browsed the menu slowly. So many great options.

We ordered a couple shareable appetizers to start and were very happy. The tempura battered cheese curds and the Korean beef lettuce wraps were a great palette teaser for us.

Another beer, another shot - and even another iced tea shot for our designated driver.

We opted to share a couple entrees. Again with Sarah's extensive knowledge of not just the product but the process of preparing it we shared the Beet Lasagna,Bavette Steak and a large house salad - All great choices.

The place was hopping when we were ready to leave. People were waiting for tables and I can understand why. I would wait in line for this great experience again.

Thanks to all the staff that took care of us. Everyone was in touch with tables. You all were great at what you do.

Until we are in Revelstoke again, be well. If you haven't been here yet, do so. It was worth the 740 km...

Okay. It has a great location and a cool atmosphere and apparently, some people have a great experience.

We, unfortunately, did not.

The server seemed to really have no idea what they were doing. They went away for prolonged periods of time...15-20 minutes at a time. A number of items were not available. We were informed after we tried to order them, of course. Okay... Back to the menu. Another 10 minutes goes by before we can order. I had to repeat myself a number of times before the message seemed to sink in. It was so bad that I asked them to repeat our order as they weren't writing anything down. Glad I did, because they got it wrong.

Food timing was completely off. One appetizer that we mentioned was a main came out 15 minutes before the actual appetizer. Then the shared main came out 20 minutes later? No wonder we had to wait 60+ minutes to get in.

The food was okay, but not really worth the hype I've seen in other reviews. Maybe I'm just picky? The food ratings are really up to the eater, right? Just my opinion.

It's too bad. Was really looking forward to the place based on other reviews and the kitschy name.

Would not recommend and will not be going back. Maybe for a drink on the patio...but...never for a meal again.

Lots of better places...
