I had a beautiful stay at Delta Saskatoon Downtown on May 24th 2025, which I booked to celebrate my wife’s special day. I had requested an upgrade to the Executive Suite that we stayed in last year, but unfortunately, that room category wasn't available. However, Mr. Ayush at the front desk and the Manager on Duty, Mr. Abhishek, were very kind and considerate and offered us a Junior Suite instead. I truly appreciate their thoughtfulness and hospitality.
As a fellow Marriott associate, I’ve had mixed experiences at some properties where upgrade or special requests were met with an attitude that suggested, "You’re a staff, you’ll get what you booked—don’t ask for more." That kind of response can feel disheartening, because as employees, we also hope to be treated with care and experience the same memorable hospitality we strive to provide to our guests. It makes a real difference when we feel valued and privileged within our own brand.
Thankfully, my experience at Delta Saskatoon Downtown was refreshingly positive. I also had a pleasant interaction with Janhvi at the front desk, who handled some of our requests with a warm and professional attitude.
Because of this exceptional service, we’re definitely looking forward to staying here again whenever we visit Saskatoon.
I do have one important suggestion for the hotel: The waterslide near the pool is a great feature and very popular with kids. However, after using the slide myself, I had an accident—I slipped and fell down, hitting my head badly on the tiled floor as I exited the slide. The area was wet and slippery, and although there’s a sign saying “Do Not Run,” I noticed that several kids were slipping as well—one even fell down, fortunately without injury.
While it may partly have been my own oversight, I strongly recommend the hotel consider installing anti-slip mats or using slip-resistant flooring around the slide exit. It could greatly help in preventing future accidents, especially for children who may not always be cautious.
Thank you again for the warm hospitality and for making our stay special. See you next time we’re...
Read moreI booked a room for my daughter & I on December 30, 2022. Both of us just wanted to get away from routine, that is why I booked a package call “the Ultimate Destress Package”. The package including 2 glasses of wine, self parking, late check out, Anti-stress massage ball. Everything went wrong from the moment we checked in, I had to asked the front desk 3 (three) times for what’s in the package with no result At all. We did not received 2 glasses of wine, instead we received 2 (two) cans of wine with bubble (when I checked market price of these kind of wine it was less than $4.) after I called front desk 3 times….Wow, Marriott sooo cheap, No anti-Stress massage ball (front desk explained they were Out of the ball), Cannot have late check out because they are full for New Year eve. Basically we received nothing from everything in the package. No Manager on duty in the evening and front desk told me Manager coming in the morning. Went to front desk asking for Manager/Supervisor she told me Manager coming in the afternoon (conflict of information from the evening front desk). Finally after all the disappointment my daughter & I experienced with our stay I met & spoke to the Manager name Wade. He was so helpful, accommodating, understanding the situation and he was apologizing to me for everything and any inconvenience that happened to us. He explained that the package should not be an option for online booking and the front desk did not know what to do. In the end Wade told me that we do not have to pay anything for our stay. Everything is taking care of. I was happy of how he was handling our issue. Not happy with our stay but I was happy how the manager...
Read moreWhat I liked about this hotel: Conveniently located in downtown Saskatoon near malls and restaurants, though some nearby streets seem to have fallen on hard times A chocolate bar was waiting for me in the room when I checked-in, which was a nice surprise Room was beautifully arranged With one exception, room was very clean though you probably shouldn't walk around the room without shoes/slippers on Hot water for showers was always readily available Restaurant on main level of hotel Water/ice machine available near elevators
What could be improved: Air conditioners were very loud both in the room and the neighbouring room. When neighbouring room air conditioner kicked in, the TV in my room rattled and my bed shook all day/night The corner riverview room was lovely in theory (great view of the river), but a room with floor-to-ceiling windows next to a busy intersection also lets in a ton of unwanted noise. The room is not recommended for light sleepers. I slept quite poorly due to the constant traffic noise even while wearing earplugs Found a used bandaid on the armchair when I checked-in Repairs were being carried out on the only women's washroom on the conference level of the hotel on day one of a conference so I was told to use the men's washroom (mainly urinals and a couple of stalls!), which was really uncomfortable due to the potential for awkward run-ins. Why couldn't the repairs have been carried out in the evening? No airport shuttle (Taxi drivers may/may not tell you about the $21 flat rate between airport and downtown)
Despite the lovely views of the river, I don't think I would stay here again because...
