BBQ Junction â Saskatoon (Visited April 11, 2025)
BBQ Junction is a relatively new addition to Saskatoonâs culinary scene, having opened just five months ago, but itâs already making wavesâespecially among the South Asian community. We had the pleasure of dining there on April 11, 2025, and were genuinely impressed by the authenticity, taste, and hospitality.
The restaurant is co-owned by Asif and Mudassar, who have brought in a true taste of Lahore, Pakistan, with their thoughtfully curated menu. We tried the Mutton Karahi, Beef Kebab, and Yakhani Pulao. Each dish surpassed the lastâflavorful, rich in tradition, and generously portioned. The Mutton Karahi stood out with its deep, home-style flavor, the kebabs were perfectly spiced and juicy, and the Yakhani Pulao had a comforting, aromatic depth that only comes from hours of careful preparation.
What made the visit even more special was the personal interaction with the owners. Mudassar, who also serves as the head chef, took the time to explain his dishes and share some of his future plans for the restaurant. Asif, on the other hand, introduced us to some of their loyal customers, creating a warm, community-focused atmosphere.
To top it all off, the tea served at the end was exceptionalâa perfect, flavorful finish to a memorable meal.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience authentic Lahori cuisine in Saskatoon. This place is definitely worth visiting...
Read moreOur experience at this newly opened restaurant serving authentic Pakistan style karahi was unexpectedly good as food served was indeed very tasty & fresh.
The wait was around 40 minutes for food to arrive on our table which was okay as we were told so at the beginning of ordering, also as the food was served we could tell immediately that karahis were made from scratch & indeed straight from the stove as it came sizzling.
The Chicken Achari Karahi tasted unique and had a creamy texture of gravy which made it perfect to be paired with the naan that we ordered to have it with. The achari flavor was also not too overpowering & had the perfect balance.
The Mutton Shinwari Karahi had a more traditional authentic karahi taste. The meat in it was perfectly cooked & was still very juicy.
Both the karahis stole the show as the quantity & quality; both were indeed very appealing.
The Chicken kabab was also served very fresh, we found it well seasoned & very moist inside. It was just the perfect appetizer to start our meal with.
We had their mango lassi at the end which was the absolute best cooling drink for the tastebud, it was indeed very refreshing & creamy.
All in all, good luck to their future journey, their food indeed tastes great & hope they will be able to continue keeping it as 10/10 as it...

Visited BBQ Junction and was completely let down. The place is extremely unhygienic â greasy floors, chipped utensils, and I even saw bugs crawling around. The portion sizes were shockingly small, definitely not worth the price.
Service was just as poor. They clearly prioritize their regulars or friends, while first-time customers like us are made to feel unwelcome. We waited over an hour for our food, only to be served bland, stale, and tasteless dishes.
It seems like theyâre relying on a circle of friends to hype them up online, but the reality doesnât match the hype at all. Wonât be going back, and I donât recommend this place to anyone.
One last thing: if you point out their flaws â whether in person or through a Google review â they never acknowledge or show willingness to improve. Instead, they simply claim the reviews are fake. I spent over $125, so let me be clear: this review is 100% real. Donât waste your time...
