I injured my knee and had really bad shin pains the day before running a 21.5k Half Marathon. My wife swears by acupuncture, so we called around to see if we can find one close that would help me. We ended up calling Yaletown and they said they could get me in right away, so we headed down there. This being my first time doing acupuncture, I was a bit nervous and skeptical, I didn't want to injure myself anymore. From the moment I walked in, the attitude I got was 'we will take care of you, you have nothing to worry about'. I went in and after the consultation I was told that I needed more than the acupuncture to help get me ready for the race. I figured give it a shot, they didn't charge me allot of money for the additional massage service. First the lady came in and did the acupuncture along with electro massage type thing, it felt really good, i could feel the pain going away (or so i thought). When that was done an older gentleman walked in and the lady explained what she did and what i was trying to accomplish. He went to work on my legs and I can tell you he found all the pressure spots, I screamed like a kid every time he touched one. He kept telling me "no pain, no gain". I went through it and by the end of the session my legs felt great, no knee pain and shin pains (I kid you not, Even i was shocked). I am happy to say today I ran my Half Marathon and cut almost an hour from my time. There is NO WAY I was going to run it in the condition I was in yesterday. I couldn't be happier and more grateful than i am for this place. If you want REAL results, go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited this place few months ago with big big hope but felt cheated and fooled. Read each and every review and thought of going with Melanie for Accupunture. Hate needles still went as pain was worse than fear of being poked with needles. I am punctual and went five mins before time. There was no communication from them to come before time to fill forms which takes away pretty good time as you have to mention lot of details. After I went in room, Melanie asked me about my problems and I told her how much pain I have and then started the discussion which didnāt stop. Melanie kept talking abt how plantations were treated back then and why ppl were healthy etc etc and to my utter surprise by the time it ended I was left with 15 mins. she told u can pay 60$ and leave (60$ just for talkingš¤) or pay 120$ and get Accupunture for 15 mins. Since I was too much in pain, I thought something is better than nothing. I paid 120$ for nothing. My concern is that there was no concern for a person whose first statement was āI have too much hope on Accupunture and you guys and this is my last hopeā At times I feel that when u r too soft, people make judgements and treat you like fool and u feel cheated. May be because being nice is rare. Because I was too nice not to stop Melanie and ask her to do Accupunture and while I am lying we can talk about supplements and plantation, she treated me such.
I posted this review late as I wanted to get over it and wanted to give another try but it gives me anxiety.
First impression is last and I wish Melanie, was bit empathic and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLast month after a relaxing acupuncture treatment with Melanie I noticed an ad at the reception desk at Yaletown Wellness Centre for nose thread lift. I saw amazing results in the before and after photos and instantly had to ask about it. Iāve had a bump on my nose that has bothered me since I broke it as a child. Melanie reassured me that with using surgical threads she could lift the skin and the bump would no longer be visible. So I booked my appointment for the following week. I wasnāt sure what to expect for the appointment but Melanie thoroughly explained what was going to happen step by step. We both looked in a mirror at my nose and discussed the outcome I was looking for, she drew a guide with a white pencil to show me where the midline of my nose would be. After we both agreed she gave me an ice pack to numb my nose before the freezing. The only slightly uncomfortable part about the procedure is the local anaesthetic but it is very tolerable much like dental freezing, only a pinch then itās over. After that I had no idea what was going on because I couldnāt feel anything. She finished the threads and showed me immediately after, the bump was GONE. I had very mild swelling at the tip of my nose but it only lasted a day or so.There is literally no down time and I think the whole appointment was less than an hour! Every week my nose keeps getting better and better as the threads do their magic. I am extremely happy with my results and would highly recommend a nose thread lift! I canāt wait to try more thread lifting procedures...
