Presidente Edificio Santiago — Hotel in Providencia

We were put in this hotel by the company when we first arrived. Well-located, quiet, clean, safe. The desk and housekeeing staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. ||||However, sheets and towels were well-used and wearing thin, several had holes in them. Much of the kitchen items were missing and when we asked for them, a housekeeper had to come and verify that they were indeed missing. Irons are not provided - one old iron with melted synthetic materials on it and attached to the wall was located wiht one ironing table with a stained cover in a poorly-lit basement closet. Laundry services were very expensive. The wifi was poor. Email ok, two devices on eg newspapers challenging, streaming or skype not possible. ||||For USD200 / night we were expecting more. This modern hotel is situated in a quiet residential location only ten minutes walk from a major shopping mall and the underground network.||The staff spoke enough English for us to get by and were very helpful in booking our taxi to the airport (only 30 USD).||We had a lovely suite containing two bedrooms both with en suites, a kitchen with fridge and a spacious sitting room.||The breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty.||I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to fellow travelers.||One final thing, there is a lovely little coffee bar come restaurant only 100m from the hotel called "Beppo Cafe" that serve wonderful sandwiches and a very limited range of main courses, we ate on the outside veranda for both lunch and dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance, however they don't have a license...

Reservei o Hotel Presidente Suites Santiago por um site de reservas muito conhecido com 4 meses de antecedência e, ao chegar na propriedade no dia do check-in, à noite, depois de uma longa viagem, o hotel não tinha quarto disponível para me oferecer. Sempre faço reservas por este site e isto nunca tinha me ocorrido antes. Eu havia dado o meu cartão de crédito de garantia e, a esta altura, o cancelamento seria cobrado. O recepcionista não me deu a opção de cancelar e me encaminhou a uma outra propriedade do mesmo grupo, porém de nível inferior, Presidente Edificio Santiago. Não era um hotel, mas sim um apartamento com móveis velhos. Definitivamente, não foi o que eu reservei para passar a noite em Santiago com o meu marido.||Pelo que eu pude perceber, esta é uma prática recorrente deste estabelecimento. Oferecem quartos no hotel para realizar as reservas, trabalham com overbooking e, se necessário, transferem os hóspedes para esta outra propriedade. ||Como eu já estava atrasada para um jantar, pois o meu vôo tinha atrasado, não tive outra opção a não ser me hospedar. Não havia nem mesmo quem me ajudasse com as malas. Eu havia pedido que o taxi me deixasse na porta do hotel e tive que carregar todas as malas por 2 quadras até a outra propriedade.||Este apartamento é antigo, com móveis velhos e péssima divisão. Um dos quartos parecia ser o quarto de empregada adaptado. A cama de casal era colada em 3 paredes. As fotos anexadas demonstram bem o estado.||Ao chegar do restaurante mais tarde, tive que esperar por quinze minutos do lado de fora do prédio, pois não havia ninguém na portaria e não escutavam a campanhia.||Péssima...
