This hostal is run by Paul and his dad. We were originally greeted by Paul and I was having trouble with the transfer of payment due to them not being able to find their routing number. I offered to just pay with card even though it was $30 more because I understand how businesses work and wanted to make sure they got their money. Paul told me not to worry and that I can try the next day. The next day I was gone all day hiking Torres del Paine and Paul wasnāt there when I got back so I tried the transfer again in my room which again didnāt work because I didnāt have all the info for the transfer. The next day I went downstairs for the purpose of paying and Paulās dad was there, who speaks English. I told him I was still having trouble with the transfer but would like to figure out the routing number and pay. Without greeting me, asking how the tour was yesterday or anything, he began lecturing me about how I havenāt paid for two days and that if this was a restaurant, I would never just eat and not pay. I was taken aback and responded to him saying, nonono, I have the money and want to pay but I donāt have all the info. After showing him what I mean and even going through the process of setting up the transfer with him, he didnāt look for the number and started telling me about a past client who couldnāt transfer the money and left leaving them $300 short. I was officially frustrated and defensive at this point. I told him AGAIN, I have the money and want to pay! He laughed at me saying, I know you have the money hahahahā and proceeded to tell me to calm down while patting my arm. I ended up just paying card and the $30 extra to which he told me is so little money for me (for perspective, Iām a solo backpacker who can make $30 last me a week for food, it is in fact a lot of money for me.) The only saving grace for this hostal is Martin who works early mornings! Literally the nicest, sweetest guy ever and makes the best eggs! Martin...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had an amazing stay at the hostel. Amazing place! Location is terrific. The hostel is very close to the bus station and the main street with great restaurants. We took day hikes to the Torres del Paine park using a bus and therefore could not imagine a better location. The hostel is new and beautifully decorated. Our room was very comfortable with a wonderful bed and a great bathroom. Breakfast was incredible with great coffee and lots of choices. The best part of our stay were the owners of the hostel and the staff. They all speak perfect English. They helped us with everything including buying tickets to the park, arranging tours, advised us where to eat, shop, walk, etc. We are so grateful to them for our amazing vacation in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreItās one of the best places to stay at. The rooms are perfectly equipped and comfortable. Breakfast awesome with choices. But best of all they are so very helpful and friendly! Our car got rammed from behind and we were at a loss not knowing Spanish and they came to our rescue time and again. It was a traumatic experience so we decided not to self drive but have someone drive for us. Next day to Torres del Paineā¦.they drove us, arranged with our host there to organize a driver with car to take us around and drop us off at Porto Arenas. We were over our trauma by then. Returning too we stayed at Rufus and were dropped off at the airport next day.| Most helpful. Friendly. Beautifully done rooms! Coffee anytime! What more...
