Close to the bus station for inter-city destinatons and Torres del Paine, nice square in front and short walk into the town centre.
Very cute tiny house in the garden, made from an old boat - this hostel has real character that fits in well with the town itself.
Nice rooms with a little shelf next to each bed in the dorms, with a light and a plug socket.
Staff are super friendly and helpful... I came back to the hostel from the national park having got bedbugs mid way through my week long trek - I was honest and Javier gave me space in the garden to organise my things and helped me to get rid of them completely... ... I feel for them, as a hostel, because it must be very difficult to control - especially when they're rife in the national park... and if people pass through the hostel and don't mention anything, but instead just write a terrible review after, it must be hard - how are the hostel to know which beds to treat if staff aren't told which beds have them?! When I returned from my trek, I found they have a very good and well researched process for eliminating bed bugs when they...
Read morestayed there before and after W trek. I stayed in two different dorm rooms but both beds got bed bugs. And the other guy in my room on my second night also got bited by bed bugs as well. I tried to whatsapp the hostel and told them about it. hope they will do something and the future guests won’t suffer. However, they ignored my message.
Also, the room I stayed after the trek, were full of smell of the paint. I saw them were still renovating on my first night before I did the trek. I think they should let the smell gone then let people to sleep in that room. Not just because of the smell, also it is not good for the health to sleep in that room with the toxic smell.
Kitchen is small but clean and have enough equipment. The dorm room is small and the bathroom is on the top of the room, 8people share one bathroom and there are no public bathroom outside the rooms. So for example, if you are cooking in the kitchen, you have to go all the way back to your room and walk upstairs. The staff...
Read moreLovely stay here. We had private rooms for our stay. Place is run by the owner and his mother. Mother lives at the hostel.
We had a lovely stay - owner was friendly and helped with whatever we needed, also spoke decent English. Small town so the hostel is a 10 min walk away from whatever you need.
Rooms were lovely and we didn't have an issue with bed bugs (from reading other reviews). Rooms were clean, warm and shower is good and warm.
I personally enjoyed the communal dining area, as it allows you to meet other guests and the owner also spends time there and speaks to everyone, although the table is slightly awkwardly large. The owner plays the drums, which was amazing when he did a short set one evening.
Kitchen is outdoors - not ideal for the cold weather in Patagonia but we found it fine once we used it.
The mother is helpful but feels like she is watching your every move when cooking but we only stayed for a couple of nights so didn't affect us.
Thanks for the...
