A lovely hostel (although private bed and bath rooms are available which we stayed in) run by a lovely couple. It's location is very convenient as it is a 3 minute drive from the bus station in one direction and downtown in the other. It is very easy to walk around the city from this accommodation. The rooms are welcoming, although not glamorous. They do not lack any key features and are the perfect place to stay if you plan on going to Torres del Paine as they will store luggage for you so long as you stay before and after your trek. Breakfast is served in the morning 7-8 with the option of a to-go bag up to an hour prior when coordinated with the owners. I cannot overemphasize how hospitable and kind the owners are. They helped us with so many things in getting oriented in the city and for getting ready for our trek. And for the price, there really is no reason to go anywhere else if there is availability during the time you are in Puerto Natales. Don't spend your time researching other hostels, stay at Hostal Baquedano and you will not be...
Read moreEverything about Hostal Baquedano was amazing! The price was affordable for travelers in my price range and the location was perfect (near grocery stores, the bank, retail shops and the bus station)! The owners made us feel so welcome despite a language barrier. Thankfully, Google Translate was all we needed to communicate and share some laughs as we came and went from the location. The owners, Hector and Sandra, are really what make this place amazing! They treat you like family and do everything they can to ensure the most comfortable and friendly stay. If we stayed in for breakfast, we enjoyed a very filling meal with lots of options. If we were headed out for an early adventure, then they packed up breakfast to go! They even stored our extra luggage while we were gone trekking in Torres del Paine at no extra charge. They really go the extra mile. I would definitely recommend a stay at the...
Read moreIf you're reading this review to see wether you should book this hostel or not, go ahead, book it! On a long trip across South America, this has been the BEST place we've been in. It's very conveniently placed, in between the bus station and the shop and restaurant. The breakfast was nice and the rooms were very comfortable. BUT the main thing is: the owners. They are super kind! They have a nice attention to detail and will do everything they can to ensure you have a great stay: they called a taxi for us, watched after a sweatshirt we forgot (and they knew it was ours) and much much more (like suggesting to tip their staff instead of them when we wanted to express our gratitude). This is way better than the service we've received in multistar hotels but with the price of a hostel. I just want to say a profound thank you to them :) In this world it's rare to meet true...
