We stayed at Akainik twice - at the beginning and end of our Patagonia trip. We were referred there when our original choice hostal was cancelled at the last minute. Akainik became our home-away-from-home. The atmosphere is so friendly... kind of like staying with family...||||Your experience depends somewhat on your expectations. This is an older building that has been decorated with charm - but you have to be comfortable in a shared space. The rooms open onto an enclosed courtyard, so ventilation is primarily through windows that open into the common space. Lobby music will be audible in your room. We stayed a total of 6 nights and other guests were always respectful so it was never noisy - a very pleasant, homey atmosphere. But you will be aware of the other guests.||||We had a rental car. You should be aware that the property does not have parking. Street parking right in front of the hotel was always available, but we did have to pay for parking...
