The reviews I read of this hostal stated that although out of town, the helpful owner would drop you in town, sort out tours and basically be a great host. The property description stated that you could get breakfast for $5 and that reception was 24hours. All of this prompted me to book, despite the price, as my wife has a broken ankle at the moment and I thought this level of personal service was just what we were looking for. How wrong. We barely saw anyone in our five days. The first day we were met by a very rude woman but we did manage to get some washing done and returned the second day. Then nothing until our last night when she came banging on our door when we were in bed, demanding to know when we were leaving. There was no helpful owner, no help with booking tours, no personal touch, no breakfast, and the worst customer service of our two months in south America. The location is not great and the bathroom offered a shower which veered betweens being as cold as the female staff member and as hot as all hell. I only hope if you take the chance you have an experience more in line with the better ones for this...
Read moreWe stayed here for 5 nights. It was a clean & nicely presented room with a cosy outdoor area. The bed was comfortable. There was a shared kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, fridge and all cutlery etc available. Wifi was free & worked well during our whole stay. The hostel was about a 10 minute walk from the centre of town & across the road from the bus station which was convenient. Bikes were available to rent as well! ||Only downside to this hostel was the showers were difficult to maintain a good water temperature, often becoming very hot or cold. No English was spoken by the host either but communication through google translate worked well for us! ||I would recommend this place & would happily stay here again if I returned...
Read moreWe border crossed from Bolivia to San Pedro de Atacama. The location of the hotel is just across from border custom. It is just a dash walk from there to the hotel. The señora who is taking care of this place is extremely helpful, despite my poor Spanish she helps with our check-in. The location has laundry service, bike rental, warm water (which was exactly was i need after the coldness from the salt plain. It has two entrance/exit which makes it even more comfortable, one if you have a car, and one to access to the town center. Love this place, and would love to visit the señora again, she...
