This hotel has excellent, clean, quiet rooms (on the back of the hotel). Very local neighborhood for an authentic experience. Delicious breakfast. Breakfast staff were warm and friendly. Front desk staff of Magdalena and Devir (sp?) we’re warm welcoming and helpful. For service I would’ve given 5 stars if not for one man at the front desk. I don’t know his name but he is skinny and has dark hair. He was rude and indifferent. I was traveling with my elderly mother and 2 suitcases. I had reserved a taxi with the front desk the night before to meet us at a specific time in the morning because we had to catch a departing bus. The taxi never arrived. The man at the front desk kept saying it was coming. I realize a late taxi is not his fault but he was indifferent and made no effort to help us. The taxi never showed up and his answer was to tell me to call an Uber. Instead my elder my mother and myself hauled 2 suitcases across a median to flag down a taxi on a busy road. No taxis passed in front of the hotel. It would have been good service if he could have gotten out from behind his desk to hail a taxi for us. We made our connection but we were late. He has no business working in customer service at hotel. Other than this individual, I loved this hotel and would...
Read moreWe booked two nights at Altiplanico Bellas Artes, after having a wonderful stay at the Altiplanico in Puerto Natales. Our stay at Bellas Artes, unfortunately, was somewhat disappointing. We booked what they call a “suite,” which was essentially a large traditional hotel room with a bathtub randomly placed in the middle of it. The design as a whole prioritized aesthetics over functionality and simply didn’t make sense. For example, there was a rainfall shower head that didn’t work, both because it seemingly wasn’t connected to the plumbing and would flood the bathroom if it turned on. Oddest of all was that there was an advertisement and menu for Papa John’s in the room. It felt like something that belonged in a “by the hour” roadside motel, not an upscale hotel suite. The breakfast was adequate, but nothing special and the staff seemed disinterested in providing a memorable stay for guests. An exception is the man who greeted us when we checked in very late after a flight delay. He was extremely welcoming and friendly. The pillows were also very comfortable. Overall, the hotel is comfortable, clean, and in a good location, but I imagine there are better places out there in the same price category that would provide a...
Read moreAfter a lot of research, we picked this hotel and were really happy we did! It is in a good location, very central to the plaza, park, many sites and we were happy with spending a bit more than the cheaper places but also less than the expensive places. There are lots of great spots in Sanitago, but we were happy. The hotel actually looks as nice in person as the pictures! The place has cool staircases and lighting, the room was small but clean and had a bice shower and toilet area built into the room, which didnt bother us at all. Elevator is for luggage only FYI so would be hard for someone with disability. The breakfast was nice and simple, but good, and they have a great coffee machine in the lobby. Staff were all helpful and nice and we really enjoyed our stay! Good bang for...
