We went to visit the museum and support local artists but after getting in we found out one of the exhibitions was a long crate with actual birds inside. So we decided to talk with the staff to understand why they are allowing this bizarre thing and they tried to justify saying those birds were born in captivity so they were better where they are. They also showed us a document saying that exhibition was “approved” by an ethical authority which is ridiculous. They make money using those poor birds and try to justify it by showing people a paper that says it’s ok!?

We requested our refund because we don’t support any activity that make profit from animal exploitation. I hope people know that and also don’t support them until they stop doing that. Also, hopefully they realise what they are doing and change...

It cost me 1000 pesos to get in today. Note cash only they do not take cards. I went yesterday with no cash and could not get in. On the lower ground floor they have one exhibition of simulated waves and other patterns accompanied by noise possibly an earthquake? This is also visible from the ground floor where there is a "chronometer". I did not get this at all you walk through a tunnel built of crushed plastic bottles in gabions and the floor is mirrored glass. At the end of the tunnel there is a digital date then you have to walk back the same route which is very difficult if there are people coming the other way. There are a few exhibits on the...

While roaming the streets of Barrio Lastarria we happened upon the very snazz-ii big spaced art gallery. It’s a multi-floored impressive-lii designed building lots of glass and open space. The modern art on displayed is fantastic even if you’re not an art fundii you are able to decide for yourself, many of the large pieces on displayed at the time of our visit was the five-panel work it could be hung together as one or as five pieces with some space in between. And again entree here is free of charge but they do have a collection box where the voluntary donations can be lodged and as they acknowledge that they real-lii appreciated...

Modern art isn't my favorite flavor but here were some really cool things that I appreciated and would recommend seeing in person if you get the chance. The bottom floor was a series of very abstract interpretation of vases that reminded me of the early days of using photoshop, going crazy with the blurry brush rotating objects to watch them twist and untwist...then there were 3 sculptures ranging from 3-6' that looked to be plaster that was then spray painted. I'll let someone else post the pictures of that art, maybe they appreciated then more.

There are three floors of exhibition space which features just a few large installations. We recently enjoyed the exhibition of historic hats and caps. Even for those with limited Spanish skills may be able to figure out the meanings. The staff the desk was friendly and welcoming. Cost is $5pp to enter. There is a clean bathroom and the neighborhood offers lots of cafes and restaurants for before or after.
