Okay, so, Santa Lucia Hill… I went, and honestly, it was way better than I expected. I'd heard about the views, but experiencing them in person was something else. I'm not going to lie, I'd read about the stairs, but honestly, I barely noticed them. Maybe it was the excitement, or maybe I was just so distracted by how pretty everything was, but it really wasn't a big deal. And the view from the top? Absolutely stunning. I mean, you see pictures, but it's nothing compared to standing there, looking out over the whole city with the Andes in the distance. It's that classic Santiago view, and it's totally worth it. I just stood there for ages, trying to soak it all in. What I really loved was the atmosphere. It's like a little pocket of calm in the middle of all the city chaos. The gardens are beautiful, and there's this really cool, old-world feel to the place. It's perfect for just wandering around and exploring. I went up in the late afternoon, and the light was just perfect. It made everything look even more magical. I found a bench and just sat for a while, watching people and enjoying the peace and quiet. Honestly, Santa Lucia Hill is a must-do in Santiago. It's a great spot to get some amazing photos, take a break from the city, and just enjoy a really beautiful place. I went in not expecting much, and came out...

There might be a fair number of steps to reach the top of this hill, which on a hot day isn’t great, but it’s totally worth it. Whether you climb from the south or north side there’s plenty to admire on the way, although the south side was by far the best for me with the grand water feature and ornate walls. Once at the top of the hill there’s plenty of opportunities to soak up the city’s skyline and rest the feet on the numerous benches. Even though it was pretty busy at the top the open space is large so didn’t feel too crowded.

For those wanting the very best view, keep climbing up the steep and tight steps to the very top of the fort. But if you’re not great with steep steps don’t worry too much, there’s enough opportunities for photos and views on the main level, along with the traditional telescopes should you wish. There’s lots of little cafes surrounding the hill too, plus a small park for relaxing at ground level, so the location is great when exploring the city.

Free to enter and some good photo opportunities make this really...

This is a beautiful tranquil area of Santiago that offers spectacular hilltop vistas of Santiago and the snow capped mountains surrounding the city. There are several well maintained trails throughout the park and a network of steps that eventually lead to the top of a hill that provides a magnificent 360 degree view of the city and its impressive skyline. Within the park are restrooms that can be accessed for a nominal fee and small kiosks to purchase refreshments and snacks. Entrance to the hill is free of charge. As a foreign tourist I just had to sign my name with my nationality and passport number in a visitors log book supervised by a friendly security guard at the entrance. The park has an abundance of benches to rest, relax and enjoy the scenery. All in all a wonderful place to really appreciate the scenic beauty of this historic city.

This is a nice park to explore and enjoy nature. It was an easy walk up to the top, and the views of the city were lovely. We had blue skies and a nice breeze, but if it’s raining, some of the stone stairs might get slippery. We had to register when we entered, but there was no fee to get in. We enjoyed a beverage at the top and thought they did a great job maintaining the grounds.
