By taxi, between the airport and here, is around 25-30 minutes and very affordable. By metro it's 1 hour 20 minutes and 6 yuan. Being by a subway station was critical for me. This was great. From down below, I think exit A (don't quote me on this), then follow the signs. You walk out and there's a building on the left - that's the hotel. Keep curving left until you encounter the entrance. From the outside going in it's not marked.||||Make note that check-in is on the 7th floor. Basic English. All went well. I'd asked for a room high up, non-smoking. 18th floor seems a little nicer from the elevator's view - carpeting not tile the entire floor. There were ashtrays in the room, but there was no smell. They also put me at the end of the hallway so it was quiet. The only sounds I heard were from construction. (Unavoidable with all the work going on in the city.) There was a 'floor lobby' between the wings for those wanting to converse. ||||My first reaction of the room was that it was small. Then I looked again and found it quite sufficient. It had the desk, bed, nightstand, dresser with tv on top, chair and bookcase, and it wasn't cramped; ample room to move around. ||||I had a door to the tea area (actual loose tea, not tea bags), closet (this open area could be used as a dressing area) and the bathroom. The bathroom was fairly large and the hot water was immediate. This room had a bathtub. ||||Slight carpet stains, minimal, and not as bad as most hotels. Internet worked well in the evenings, but not in the mornings. Oddly enough, one of my windows had a small but noticeable gap when closed. The closet had an auto light when opened. However, that door never closed all the way, leaving the light on. Made a nice nightlight, and had it become an issue I could have closed the door. Typical hard Chinese mattress.||||It was still a good visit and when you get a good deal,...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel for two weeks in July, and that was my forth time staying there. The hotel is very conveniently located in the very downtown core of Chongqing within a walking distance to absolutely everything you may possibly need and imagine, which makes it perfect for business travellers as well as for vacationers. Great view from the rooms too because of the location. The rooms are quiet and clean and the staff are very polite and efficient. Although not a lot of them speak English, communication was never an issue as they would always call or find someone who was able to communicate on a basic level, but that was enough. The restaurant was very good for breakfasts. There was always enough food to choose from. There was always someone available to help you with the cutlery, to refill the coffee/tea, etc. The hotel lobby, hallways, elevators are all well air-conditioned, which is vital as the hot outside is almost unbearable. AC in the rooms though is a hit-and-miss, but is generally OK. It would be great if they had some kind of a gym, which would be a great bonus, but most importantly, the management should really crack down on smoking in the elevators, because not only is it unpleasant, unhealthy and disrespectful to other guests, but it is also a fire hazard. There are No Smoking signs in the hotel, but the staff just ignore the violators. Other than that, the hotel is quite decent, and I would definitely...
Read morePlus: location was excellent, close to jiefangbei shopping area. The staff is also attentive and do a fast response. The facilities of the hotel was so so as its only 1 a one floor hotel. Minus: The hotel hygiene could be improved, i got bed bug or some kind of lice from hotel bed. It was so itchy and left a lot of red mark on both of my arms. Luckily the hotel is kind enough to give me medicine for the bite and also apologize. They also changed my bed sheets everyday during my stay which reduce the amount of bed bug. I found out that they got lowest score (just a C) from government health inspection board. I really hope they can improve the hygiene since the hotel location is excellent and the staff...
