On the morning of the checkout day at 07:03 AM, I personally went to the front desk to confirm that I would be checking out of all five rooms. After the front desk staff confirmed the check-in documents, bills, and guests' signatures, I returned to my room. A few minutes later, I went to my parents' room, and then we, along with friends from the other three rooms, went out for breakfast. They left the hotel around 9 AM to head to the airport. After saying goodbye to our friends at the hotel entrance, we returned to our room and left for nearby sightseeing around 9:30 AM. When we returned to the hotel at approximately 11 AM, we found that our room cards had been deactivated. We went to the front desk to reactivate our cards and were told that our luggage (which later we discovered included only the luggage containing cash, documents, and high-value items) had been taken to the front desk. We immediately requested an apology from the hotel and a written confirmation of the incident with a stamp, but the on-duty manager refused, citing the lack of an official hotel seal. Because our luggage contained important documents, we called the police to confirm the incident. The on-duty manager explicitly stated to us and the police that they could not apologize, and this is documented in the police report. Before leaving, we noticed that only some of our luggage was present, and upon our request, the hotel staff handed over the other items left in the room (including a large box of fruit from room 2319, a breakfast placed on the table in room 2304, and a 1-liter water bottle). On July 16, the police and the hotel's security supervisor reviewed the surveillance footage and confirmed the 7 AM front desk confirmation and the hotel staff moved some of our high-value luggage from our two rooms without informing us in the police report.||||### Follow-Up Events###||||On July 3 at 03:24 PM, during a three-way phone conference with the Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Commission and the hotel, I informed Hotel Manager Ms. Chen Jinghui that I would visit the hotel on July 9 to discuss the matter and review the surveillance footage. The hotel agreed to cooperate (with a full phone recording available). On July 9, due to work commitments, I couldn't travel to Chongqing. At 04:09 PM that day, I informed the hotel by phone that I couldn't come and rescheduled my visit for July 16. The hotel acknowledged this and said they would report it to General Manager Ms. Chen Jinghui.||||On July 16 at 01:37 PM, I arrived at the hotel. The front desk staff said they would notify the relevant personnel to receive me. About ten minutes later, a person named Jack Fan, who claimed he is the security supervisor on duty but it was his first day on the job and knew nothing about the incident, refused my request to view the surveillance footage. When I asked to see other supervisors who were aware of the incident, he said no other supervisors or managers were on duty. When I requested to meet General Manager Ms. Chen Jinghui, he confirmed she existed but was not on duty. Later, at the police's request, the security supervisor and police reviewed the surveillance footage, confirming the incident and issuing the report mentioned above. This report confirmed Ms. Chen Jinghui lied in the email reply on July 3 at 04:57 PM and previous phone and email responses. ||||On July 16 from 04:00 PM until 05:00 PM, I sat in the hotel lobby without any further communication from the hotel staff. NOT EVEN A WORD!!!||||On July 17 at 09:20 AM, I called the hotel to request an explanation for yesterday's events. The hotel said they did not understand what I was talking about, claimed everything was normal yesterday, and promised to pass the message to the responsible person for a callback, but I received no response. On July 17 at 02:27 PM The Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Commission attempted to hold another three-party conference call. The hotel representative stated that they needed to report to their superiors and get back to us, but there has been no response...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and in many ways it was a good stay. The location is fantastic, a stones throw from the MRT and food heaven. ||We had a one bed apartment that was labelled as deluxe and with a city view. The apartment was enormous, very clean but the view was more of air conditioning units than of the city. They were generous with the bottled water in the room, as well as the amenities. ||The bed was divine, so comfortable with great pillows. Bathroom was great, with lovely toiletries. The WiFi is fast. The room was cleaned promptly each day and to a very high standard. ||Things that let this hotel down include the very slow lifts from the entrance to the lobby floor. The sofa in the room was quite uncomfortable. There are signs everywhere labelled as ‘tips’ but warning that you will be charged if you leave any washing up, charged for washing up liquid, what you can and can’t do in the residents lounge, it just feels rude and unnecessary. Oddly, there were extra bottles of water in the room clearly marked at an eye-watering 68 CNY each, which seemed excessive.||We were also disappointed to find that swimming in the pool was only permitted if you wore a swim cap — something we’ve not encountered in other hotels in China. Unfortunately, staff weren’t able to help us source one.||In summary, while there were definitely some highlights, the negatives have put me off choosing the Marriott Executive Apartments brand in the future. It’s a real shame, especially given how flawless our experience was at their Bangkok location on...
Read moreWe stayed at the Executive Apartments for a few nights and had a great experience overall.
The decor is modern, and the apartment comes fully equipped with a kitchen and in-unit laundry, including both a washing machine and dryer. The bathroom was spotless and nicely designed.
The bed was very firm, but after requesting a mattress topper, it was promptly provided and made a big difference in comfort.
Service was excellent—everyone we interacted with was friendly and incredibly helpful. The reception team even recommended an amazing hotpot restaurant just five minutes away, which turned out to be a highlight of our stay.
The location is unbeatable. It’s within walking distance of major sightseeing spots, with plenty of restaurants and activity nearby. We were able to explore everything on foot.
The only downside was the view. Although the apartment was advertised as having a "city view," all we could see was another apartment building across from us. It wasn’t a huge issue for us, though, since we didn’t spend much time...
