I booked a single ensuite room (17th floor), though could tell by the room set up, 2 pillows, 2 glasses, 2 cups, 2 towels, that it is considered a double room and suitable for 2 people. As a single person I found it a very comfortable place to hang out in and did not need to use common areas. It would be snug for 2 people. ||There was a table and chair, with convenient plug sockets that made working on my laptop easy. A kettle allowed me to boil my own water (buy your own bottles). Hooks and 2 hangers was sufficient for me to hang up key items, and the shelving was very useful. I did not watch the tv as not my thing. Air conditioner worked fine. |The bed was comfortable with clean bedding. A tall person would not be able to stretch out; I am 5ft 3 inches and was fine, though if I were a few inches taller , then my feet would have touched the wall. ||The ensuite was clean. The shower has hot water, though the temperature is variable when using it. I would have liked to have had a floor mat on the tiled floors to avoid slipping, though then realised I could use the hand towel. Plenty of toilet roll, toiletries in containers fixed to the wall, a hairdryer, i.e. everything needed. |This place is in a good location near exit C of Yau Ma Tai metro station. There are many shops and eating places nearby. I walked to several vegetarian restaurants (I can walk far). I ended up getting breakfast from the nearby bakery most days. Travel by bus or metro is convenient. It feels like a safe area, and as a female travelling alone I always felt safe. ||I spoke with reception several times during my 8 night stay and always found everyone to be polite and helpful, and all with good English. I had checked in at 9pm with no problems. The doorman sat in the foyer was friendly and directed me where to go as soon as he saw a case. ||I was in a private corner room and it was very quiet; the elevator was on one side and empty space on the other side so no noise from neighbouring rooms. The room has key card entry and I like how I never had to go to reception to get the card recharged as often happens at other places I have stayed. ||The is called a Youth Hostel, though if you are a more mature person looking for a cheap ensuite room to stay in , then this is the place for you. If you have booked a private room you will not be experiencing any type of hostel vibe if you do not wish and will not be disturbed by groups of backpackers. Apart from check in, you will get the elevator straight to your floor view it just as a cheap hotel. ||If you are a backpacker looking for a cheap and convenient place to stay , then this is for you. If you are the type of backpacker who is looking for the upbeat, energetic vibe, this is not one of those places…though there are posters up related to pub crawls, activities and tours. ||There is a small common area in the receptions area with a small kitchen corner, some...
Read moreMy stay at YesInn@YMT was extremely disappointing. I booked a standard double room for two nights, but the air conditioner was malfunctioning, turning on and off, with water dripping from it. The remote control didn’t work and seemed mismatched to the room. Despite reporting the issue to the receptionist, who acknowledged the problem and promised a fan, no fan was provided. With no other rooms available, I had to book another hotel at midnight, costing nearly the same as my two-night stay at YesInn.||The next day, I returned to seek a resolution. Another receptionist confirmed the air-con issue and promised to consult management. After an hour, I was reassigned to an upgraded room on the 17th floor as compensation, but they still denied reimbursement for the previous night’s hotel. To add to the frustration, they claimed the original air-con was “working fine,” contradicting the earlier acknowledgment of the issue.||On top of poor management and lack of accountability, the room was filthy—dusty under the bed and with a poorly cleaned toilet. Overall, it was an unpleasant and...
Read moreThe airport bus (A29 I think) was a 2 minute walk from the hostel which is located 10 metres from a 7-eleven and has ground floor security and elevator access. Luggage storage is free and the building is very secure with elevator access to the doomed floors being accessible only by key card. Check-in at 15:00. There is a kitchen, though cutlery is not available (only to purchase, and likewise water). I booked at a very low advanced price, so I consider it good value, however, prices closer to the date of staying seems high for what you receive in return. I didn't think the staff were particularly welcoming or helpful and the place didn't really have any atmosphere. If you're briefly in HK and would rather atmosphere, this is not the place and so spending 5-10 more would likely get a much better experience. No real qualms as the rooms were clean, but for some, it would be...
