we were in Shanghai for holiday for 4 days.||when we arrive there at 1:00am, although I requested for late check-in (but getting no response) the reception told us the booking is cancelled because we were not there by 9 pm, and stating that it is a policy from booking.com!! He referred us to another building, very old, torn & dirty and covered in mold. There was no window and smelling like a smoke room and didn’t look like images on Booking.com. We asked to move to the same place that I booked but he put it off for the day after. It was so much disgusting that we couldn’t even use the bathroom. it doesn't have WiFi at all (Lying to all guests that they have an issue with WiFi service)||The day after we moved to the same building that I booked. The room was not ready so we put our baggage there and left. ||The room was slightly better but still awful, moldy & dusty. The reception told us the images on the websites are photoshoped and we shouldn’t expect the same. Even the quilts were not clean and we asked for changing them. The only positive point was the location, apart from that I would never recommend it to anyone and...
Read moreWe booked this place on the basis of location and what turned out to be the very misleading pictures on Booking.com First thing we encountered were the arrogant, rude and incompetent reception staff who clearly resented us taking them away from their lunch and who obviously didn't bother to check our booking details as we didn't get the room we paid for. Our standard room was filthy. Walls covered in dirty marks, dust accumulated in every corner, curtains falling off the rail and a bathroom that hadn't been given a thorough clean for months. The towels were thread-bare, but what concerned us most was the smell in the room. We peeled back the sheets to find the mattress and base extensively stained with some type of blood-tinged bodily fluid, possibly vomit, as it was at the head of the bed. We demanded a change of room which turned out to be the deluxe room we'd booked and paid for. It was better, but still very dirty. The reason I used the word "brothel" in the heading is because every night the business cards of the local prostitutes are slipped under the door. Management claims they can't stop this despite the presence of a security guard in the reception area every night. Avoid this hotel...
