Hotel Portón Bogotá — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

What a joy this place is! Hotel Porton is an elegant boutique hotel. The main floor is gorgeous and filled with fragrant flowers, beautiful furniture and art, and a lovely fireplace. A separate bar and restaurant adjoin the main floor, and we really enjoyed both. The gruyere mushrooms, Argentinian steak, chocolate lava cake, Malbec wine, and cocktails were our favorites. Our room was also cheerful with a very nice view.||Service is top notch, and the staff would do anything to help us. Even before we arrived, the front desk answered our questions promptly. They arranged our round trip transportation between the airport and the hotel as well as transportation to and from other locations in the city and the hotel. They were friendly and kind throughout our stay. They even came to our room on our last night and wrapped up paintings we had purchased so that we could safely pack them in our luggage.||The bar and restaurant staff were similarly accommodating and treated us like family. Every night they ensured that we had sanitized bottled water needed for medical equipment. The maid service is no different. It is elegantly decorated with objects selected and arranged with good taste from mixed periods and places around the world, nice single rugs decorate the floors; my room had a nice rug. The bar is cosy and elegant, great for drinks and a nice conversation. The service impeccable, courteous personnel, always ready with a smile for whatever you need. Clean rooms, well equipped, wi-fi, modern clean bathroom although a little bit small for my taste. Restaurant is very good, elegant, quiet, warm and the food is good, almost homey. It is located 2 blocks away of the official Zona Rosa where you can find nice stores, elegant shopping malls, good restaurants, parks and plazas, Starbucks, etc. It is a safe area, we walked around at several hours every day and night. Nice houses and expensive looking buildings fill the area. You can see, 4 blocks away, the beautiful mountains that surrounds the city. Plenty of big trees on the clean streets. I would say this place is a must for romantic...
