El Bandido Bistro — Restaurant in Bogota, Capital District

Riding on Uber to El Bandido I started to ask myself if the driver was going to the right place since we were going through a residential area and the the road ended on a church, but right in front of the church there it was, El Bandido!!!

As soon as I enter through the door knew we were going to have a great time...the place was rocking with a cool live band, and there were tons of people. Besides the amount of people and that the place was not huge we were able to get a great table within 15 minutes.

We first order the "tabla" with prosciutto, salami and manchego cheese!!! It was pretty good!!!

The wine selection was small but more than enough and not too overpriced.

I order a Salmon and it was amazing!!!

More and more people started coming in, the band kept on rocking and El Bandido further became an amazingly festive place.

Bandido bistro its one of th Bogotá classics, for many years it has offered consistent great experiences with food. Offering a cosy environment to enjoy a great meal or an evening of tasty cocktails with live music. Starters, we tried the Oven Camembert and the Grille Octopus. The fisrt was great, the octopus was good not great the marinade could improve.

Main dishes: Asado de tira with gravy sauce and smashed potatoes (criolla potatoes). Good dish, big plate. Recomended with a shared salad. I loved the salad and the dressing a great surprise. The smashed potato’s where also just good. We also ordered the salmon with dutch sauce was good. The fries where pretty good. I must say a quite unique place this is, in Bogota!!! After two unsuccessful attempts we managed a seat at the bar to begin with then moved to a nice place. You know the reason for the crowd, the place is in an good area not too far away from the city center. Their seating is kind of rustic and romantic. Live music adds to the perfect setting. We ordered a nice wine from the good collection they have and few nibbles. There is scope for improvement in their starters however the ambience, drinks and the music will not let you think anything beyond alchohol and good time!! I must say this is a must visit place in Bogota and if you have an amazing (like i had)...
