Went in here with no expectations. Got my hopes up high the previous night at another restaurant and wasn't trying to have a repeat haha. We went for dinner on Sunday night at 9:30pm. We made reservations, but we could have easily just popped in and been accommodated. It's a big plus that they were opened this late on Sunday as a lot of other restaurants close around 9pm Sunday evening.
Really liked the ambiance and it's ideal for date night. The music was good and just set such chill vibes for the dishes to come. The restrooms are located downstairs and accessible via an elevator. The layout of the restrooms was very unique.
I was highly satisfied with most of what we ordered!! We got the dynamite roll, octopus on the stone, some tuna sashimi, king salmon nigiri, hamachi nigiri, rock shrimp tempura, Angus beef fried rice, crispy pork belly and lobster dumpling.
All were great, with the exception of the lobster dumpling and the beef in the fried rice. The lobster was not bad just a bit weird. It was too soft which gave way to a mushy consistency and the sauce wasn't to my liking. The fried rice was reallu good, but the beef has it's own dominant taste that doesn't meld well with the rest of the dish. I experienced this at a Peruvian restaurant the day before where the fried rice was good, but the meat didn't fit in as well. It's as if they cook the meat separate from everything else and sprinkle it on top at the end. Rather than cooking it with everything else.
Those were my only issues the whole night and they were nothing really. We ate 90% it and took the rest sooo😅 Oh, and waiter was awesome. Forgot his name after 3 double vodkas on the rocks, but he made the experience that much better! He mentioned he has only been serving there for about a week, but he knew the menu and his recommendations didn't disappoint.
So glad we ended up here for our last dinner on this Bogota trip!!...

My recent visit to Salvaje left me with mixed feelings and, frankly, I won't be returning anytime soon. Despite its seemingly high rating on Google, I found the overall experience quite underwhelming.
Let's start with the positive aspects. The food quality was good, however, the major downfall was the portion size. They were tiny!
The pricing here is exorbitant, especially considering the minuscule portions. It's a place where you'd expect the bill to match the quality of the food, but that's not the case.
Now, onto the service. It was, without a doubt, the lowest point of the evening. Our waiter clearly forgot to put in one of our orders. It took a staggering 15 minutes for him to realize and return to our table for clarification. Consequently, the dish arrived much later.
To top it off, when it came time to settle the bill, they carelessly charged us in USD instead of Colombian pesos, subjecting us to a dismal exchange rate.
Adding to the list of grievances, the background music was atrocious: terrible covers of great songs filled the air.
Salvaje may have garnered some popularity among the well-to-do locals seeking a "hot spot" to see and be seen. However, it falls short in many crucial aspects. With better options available in Bogota that offer superior food, value for money, and service, I see no reason to return to this establishment. The 4.4-star rating on Google seems wholly...
Read moreMy friend and I were staying at the hotel and were starving after checking in and decided to try this restaurant ( they have one in Madrid ). The decor is on point and has a very nice vibe . We were immediately seated as we dined off hours 5pm . We figured we can grab a few rolls and have a proper dinner elsewhere after .
3 rolls , 3 nigiri’s and one drinks came to a whopping 530,000 COP ( $130) . My friend didn’t check the bill when she paid as she wasn’t sure what I ordered ( had to leave to meet some local coworkers ). When i did , I crossed check the prices and the charges were higher ( ie the spicy tuna was 82,000 vs 45,000) and there was a nigiri that cost 164.000 that wasn’t on the menu ( $40 for 2 which meant $20 for ONE piece ). No wonder the server kept pushing for the nigiri pieces and even the sampler platter ( which if we did order , this review would have been a Lot worse based on a previous review about being overcharged on a sampler recommendation by a server ). It’s a shame of such practice of a restaurant this caliber . Granted they’re probably not expecting the same diners to come back again but with another location in Madrid , wouldn’t they want to keep a positive image for the brand ?
Owning a business and keeping it profitable isn’t easy but I guess with two locations , they know what they’re doing . When I visit Madrid ( I go often for work ), I will give it another try and hopefully will have a...
