Patio de Getsemaní — Hotel in Cartagena

The best hotel experience we've had in any country we have visited! From the moment you arrive, Cristian, Leo, and the entire staff make you feel at home. We were greeted with fresh juice and were shown the property.

The room is simple and perfect for how we wanted to travel. It has A/C for those humid Cartagena days and was extremely clean. There is no hot water, but with the heat outside, you won't want hot water anyways.

The breakfast in the morning is simple. IMO, a perfect size. Doesn't get you too full so you can enjoy all the wonderful food in Cartagena. It consisted of coffee, fresh juice, fresh mixed fruit, and a main.

The rooftop was our favorite spot. It has a great view, a jacuzzi, and plenty of greenery. Great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing!

The area is within a 10-20 minute walk of just about any area in Getsemani or the Centro. Just outside of the nightlife, but just close enough to the action if you want to experience Colombian nightlife.

What really sets this place apart is the service. Every time we went out sightseeing, we were greeted by Cristian or Leo who were genuinely curious to know what we saw or what we ate. They let us know some good local spots and were happy to help us get the most of our getaway. Their hospitality is 15/10. We will definitely be back one day.

We stayed at Hotel Patio de Getsemani and were treated like close friends. The owner and his wife were very welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable. The breakfast was very nice - fresh coffee, fruits, granola, yogurt, eggs, and more - and is had in the sun-lit atrium in the middle of the hotel. The beds were comfortable and the view from our room was nice, overlooking the water and the fortified walls of the city.||I very much enjoyed the rooftop patio as there was strong wifi throughout the hotel and it was a nice place to work on my laptop with a coffee in the morning. The location is excellent as you can walk (5 min) to many popular bars and restaurants, but won't have to deal with the noise when it is time for bed. My girlfriend and I stayed here for a couple nights on our way to Santa Marta, and enjoyed it so much that we stayed for a couple nights again on our way back through to Medellin. ||I highly recommend staying here the next time you are in Cartagena. The price was more than fair and you will get a good night's sleep. ...

Authentic and comfortable experience. Excellent AC in the rooms, delicious free breakfast with fruit, coffee, toast and eggs served fresh, and most importantly the owners are incredibly kind and the property is extremely safe! There is 24 hour reception with cameras and a heavy gate for security. The feel of the hotel is simply magical with a rooftop jacuzzi, plants growing through the building and smiles always greeting you. I arrived to Cartagena with motion sickness and desperately needed to lie down- the owners rushed to clean a room for me and even came to my door with tea to check that I was doing ok. PLEASE stay here!! It is so cute for those who want an instagram pic and huge rooms for families with additional areas to relax. For example my kind bedroom with connected bathroom had two twin day beds In the room that would be perfect for kids or even multiple friends on a trip together!! Thank you Leo...
