The place offers a small kitchen, and a terrace to hang out (although when we were there non of the other guests we greeted even replied). There is also hot water and coffee in the morning - I guess to actually get hot water you have to be very early though (I only got cold water out of the dispenser). There is a bar selling beer, water and other drinks at reception.
We booked a room with shared bathroom but were "upgraded" to one with bathroom. No one told us about that - we just realised after they took us to the room. So our room was at the very back of the hostel and therefore very close (next wall) to the club behind the hostel. Whenever we came in the evenings it was quiet the whole way passing the other rooms and when we arrived in our room we could hear the "music". (I think that's not the way to deal with your guests. Either you are proud on "upgrading" people than you would tell them, or you know that they got a worse room now than communication would also make a great deal). As we had earplugs with us it was not such a big issue - luckily the days we were there we couldn't feel the bass (could be worse on the weekends, we stayed three nights arriving Sunday). They also provide earplugs (I wouldn't rely on those, they looked to long) but it's best to bring really good earplugs with you. As we arrived late at night from an international flight we haven't had picked up cash by the time, so as they charge a fee for card payments we agreed to pay another day - also we were writing the bar orders on the room to pay all at once. What was just really disappointing was that they would just write at a random time in the middle of our stay (in the late morning when we had already left the hostel for the day to make it to a tour) that we have to pay now. So we had to make our way back through the city for the payment and then they didn't even have change prepared. That didn't seem very hospitable to me and left a really bad aftertaste.
Location might be nice if you are here for party (we were not). The place is ok if you can't find something else (just make sure to have the rooms with shared bathrooms, I'm pretty sure they're more quiet) otherwise I wouldn't...
Read moreWe stayed 4 nights (Friday - Tuesday) in an en-suite double room. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and really comfortable. Everything looks just like in the photos they provide. The bathroom has a huge shower and we always had hot water. They provided towels and some toiletries. The wifi in the terrace/ bar area is good. Beers are cheap and the staff are friendly. There’s a big kitchen with everything you need and it was very clean too. The location is excellent, right in the heart of things in Provenza, El Poblado so there are coffee shops, restaurants and bars all on your doorstep. The room was equipped with a desk, but none of the wifi networks reached over to that side of the room. The wifi doesn’t really work in the rooms or other common areas at all, it just disconnects after a few minutes. With the buzzing location comes loads of noise - from Friday to Sunday there was music blasting all around until 3-4am, so you may as well go out and enjoy the nightlife as you won’t get any sleep. There is a 5% charge to pay on card which you don’t find out until it’s time to pay, so bring cash if that will work out better for you. Overall definitley recommend for backpackers and those looking to enjoy the nightlife in El Poblado. Digital nomads might want to look for somewhere a...
Read moreIt's like sleeping on a club dance floor - ridiculously noisy. People in the hostel will be screaming/roudy when it's late and the staff won't say anything to them. The other guests here had no regard for others and were rude. Uncomfortable beds. Room not cleaned while I was there. 20/25 mins awkward walk (big roads and you can only cross at certain points) to Poblado metro so not exactly close. There's a bell system to get in - nights 1-3 they didn't ask me any details (you ring and they let you in) but on night 4, he was asking me Qs over the intercom in Spanish and I couldn't make out what he was saying as it's sooo noisy + I'm not a native Spanish speaker. In the end, he made me wait outside right next to an unconscious homeless man on the kerb whilst he came down to let me in and asked my details - and was rude, repeatedly telling me to "relax". I get that you're being careful but why the inconsistency? And you really can't understand why I feel unsafe waiting there alone as a single female next to people passed out, and obv a tourist so not a native Spanish speaker, at 11.10pm?
At check-in they told me the room I'd booked is super noisy and advised me to change. The other room wasn't as nice, and was still loud, but much less loud than the first. Some nice coffee...
