Ensō Restaurante — Restaurant in Medellín

Our visit to Enso was underwhelming, to say the least. The food lacked flavor and did not match the descriptions or photos. For example, the carpacioelli dish arrived with ice-cold components,way to much cheese on top, and an overly dressed salad on top. The risotto was undercooked, adding to the disappointment.

The service was equally frustrating. Anastasia, our server, was rude and dismissive when we told her about the carpacio and she decide to charge us. The rooftop, which we had high hopes for, was completely empty with zero ambiance. To make matters worse, the waitress didn’t speak English and couldn’t even recall the names of the four white wines available. I had to go to the back myself to figure it out.

The service was disappointing. The staff was not attentive at all nor were they welcoming. The food is overpriced and I did not get what I ordered. Benedict was supposed to have a truffle hollandaise and it didn't taste like truffle at all. It was also supposed to have broccoli and sprouts and I was served lettuce. Lastly the Benedict's are served over one slice of toast that's cut in to two. No meat, ham, prosciutto, bacon, etc. It was hardly filling and I had to go somewhere else for a proper breakfast. I came here because of the good reviews, but I'm finding that several of the places here in Medellin are overhyped and overrated.

I hate when restaurants and servers try to take advantage of guests. One person at the table ordered a glass of water and the server brought out and opened not one, but two bottles of water that ended up costing 28.000 COP each. We told her we didn’t want either bottle and that tap water was fine but the bottles had already been opened….

The view from the rooftop is nice, but I’m personally not a fan of the Tulum style vibes with the repetitive electronic music and modern hippie decor.
