Casa Rosa Hotel by DOT Boutique — Hotel in Santa Marta

This hotel has a great location and could easily be a five-star property if the owners invested more in providing the comfort and quality that guests need—not just want. After a very hot day of travel, guests require a shower with a strong flow of water, not just a dribble. Unfortunately, my initial shower was unusable, leaving me sticky and uncomfortable after a long day. The room itself was subpar. The bed was placed directly on the floor without a frame, which detracted from both comfort and aesthetics. Additionally, the TV was positioned awkwardly and didn’t work properly. I was eventually moved to another room where the shower had adequate water flow—eureka! However, the water temperature was barely lukewarm at best. To make matters worse, that same night, the air conditioner stopped working, disrupting my sleep. Overall, while the location is fantastic, significant improvements are needed in the facilities and maintenance to enhance the guest experience. The location is superb and the staff are lovely but those are the only positives. Hotel is tired and pictures online must be ancient. No air con in our first room along with broken shower and no real wifi access. Also incredibly noisy by the kitchen which led to little or no sleep. We were promised a refund of one night and the room was changed. Air con at least and away from the kitchen. However, full payment was taken from card despite the agreement made. Hotel made every excuse under the sun - nobody available to authorise before we had to leave for onward journey etc etc. Complete theft in my opinion. Avoid...

Solid enough for a budget hotel. Walkable to the beach and all throughout old town. Breakfast on the second floor balcony was good (eggs with side and fruit) and rooftop terrace available to relax. Cute decor. Main drawbacks were the noise and not great WiFi - the hotel has an open courtyard so if anyone is outside including other guests or staff you can hear them talking.
