Park Hotel — Hotel in Santa Marta

The staff was very helpful - especially Luis. The hotel was a very convenient location - easy access to beach and city center. Bed was very confortable. Excellent value for money. A/C in the room was great to cool down after the beach. There were some mosquitos in the room that would enter via the bathroom window so good to bring repellent and try to keep the bathroom door as much as possible. The breakfast was ok - fruits, eggs/arepa or ham/cheese sandwich or cereals/yogourt, coffee. Could benefit from a bit more flavours but was convening to eat at the hotel each morning. A bit loud in the evenings as we are just across the beach and chivas (party buses) go by at night- so best to bring earplugs... or join...

Nos hospedamos en el hotel con mi mamá y mi hermana por 4 días y, aunque la ubicación es excelente (frente al mar, con balcon publico agradable para relajarse), la experiencia en general dejó mucho que desear por la cantidad de inconvenientes que tuvimos.

La primera habitación, para tres personas, tenía solo tres tomas de corriente, de las cuales ninguna funcionaba correctamente; para cargar los celulares había que sostenerlas con las manos, o buscar algo para acuñarlo lo cual era incómodo y peligroso. El armario era muy pequeño, por lo que la ropa y zapatos debían quedar por fuera. El baño no tenía mesón para apoyar artículos, la ducha no tenía puerta (se salía el agua) y no contaba con jabonera; los jabones suministrados eran demasiado pequeños.

El primer día que madrugamos para un tour no hubo agua en la habitación. Nadie nos avisó y no había teléfono para comunicarnos con recepción. Bajamos tres pisos para preguntar y recién ahí nos informaron del problema. La solución fue prestarnos otra habitación para bañarnos en la tarde, pero esto implicó subir y bajar constantemente, con el inconveniente de que en todo momento tuvimos que adaptarnos nosotros a la falla del hotel, en vez de que ellos tomaran la iniciativa de resolverlo de forma definitiva.

A partir de ahí, nos tocó cambiar de habitación: una sin agua, otra solo para bañarnos, y otra muy pequeña para la última noche, que no tenía closet ni mesas de noche, únicamente unos ganchos para colgar ropa. En todas las habitaciones las camas estaban desajustadas y las tomas eléctricas seguían siendo un problema.

Además, si viajan con personas mayores, tengan en cuenta que el hotel tiene tres pisos sin ascensor, lo que dificulta la movilidad. La piscina presentaba problemas de limpieza (incluso vimos cucarachas), y aunque se nota que han remodelado algunas áreas, otras lucen viejas, con olor desagradable y falta de mantenimiento.

Da tristeza porque la ubicación es muy buena y el hotel tiene gran potencial, pero falta atención al detalle, mantenimiento de las instalaciones y un servicio más enfocado en el bienestar del huésped. Ojalá inviertan más en la comodidad básica y comunicación con...

Greta location

I accidentally booked non-AC room (my mistake). The day was horrible. The non-AC room ha absolutely no cross ventilation or proper ventilation ! The window opens to a small section in between the building and the window is way up which makes it impossible for the ventilation to happen. I was suffocated to ‘death’ in the room bcoz of the heat ! I requested upgrade and they didn’t have any rooms available. I ended up vacating the room bcoz I could not breathe and I somehow survived one night (with no sleep) by showering every 2 hours and putting a wet towel on the floor and laying down on that ! I do not think this room should even be legal !...
