I reserved a room with two beds in July by phone because of the error that was occurring during online reservations. Two months later, when my friend and I arrived at the hostel, we were faced with the fact that the RESERVATION on my name DOES NOT EXIST, eventhough I confirmed our arrival the day before. So, we were stood up in the middle of the night, in the middle of tourist season - which means all the hostels and private accomodations are full – but Ms. Martina Krmek, the manager, did't see that as a problem. Moreover, she was offended when we called her that evening. The receptionist recommended us an alternative hostel that was his friends'. Hostel will cost you a little more but at least they have two beds available, he said. Since he didn't gave us accurate information about the name or the adress of the hostel (he didn't know it, as he said), we were wandering the streets of Dubrovnik while trying to find some accommodation. When we finally arrived at that reccomended hostel we found out that price is a lot higher than at Youth hostel, service is a lot worse than described by the receptionist (who actually just wanted to get rid of unsatisfied clients) and we could stay only one night! To conclude, I DO NOT RECCOMEND Youth hostel TO ANYONE, unless you are ok with rude staff and bad service. Read moreWe entered to a lovely greeting from the man at the front desk. This hostel is quite big, we were on the 2nd floor which you access by stairs. We were in a room of 4 which was a good size and included some chairs and a table. You have to make the bed yourself, which is no problem. The nights sleep was good, made better by having aircon to keep you cool. There are multiple showers and toilets which are cleaned to a good standard. You can purchase a day bus ticket for only 4 euro at the hostel which is a very good price. The location of the hostel is a 20 minute walk but the bus is easy to get and is only one stop. There is also the chance to get breakfast for about 5 euro at the hostel but we didn’t take this up so can’t comment on it. All in all...
