We had an incredible stay at Hakuna Matata Hostel, and it exceeded all our expectations in every way!
Amazing Host Antonio, the host, is incredibly welcoming and cool. His hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
Comfortable Rooms:We stayed in the AC rooms, which were super comfortable and well-maintained. They provided the perfect retreat after a day of exploring.
Clean Shower Rooms: The common shower rooms were spotless and well-kept, which is always a plus when staying in a hostel.
Great Location:The hostel is ideally situated for commuting to the old town and visiting the nearby super cool beaches. We couldn't have asked for a better location.
Island Visit: One of the highlights of our trip was the island visit. We took Antonio's boat, and it was the best experience of all time. The boat was classic, equipped with an awesome sound system, WiFi, and charger sockets. Antonio, the skipper, was friendly and cool, making the trip even more enjoyable.
Blue Caves Adventure:When we visited the Blue Caves, we were initially afraid to swim and go inside. Antonio came with us, gave us the confidence to experience it, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences we've ever had. Everyone in our group felt the same way.
Antonio and his father are some of the coolest people we have ever met, making our stay even more memorable.
For four boys on a budget trip, Hakuna Matata proved to be the perfect place to stay. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic hostel experience.
Overall, Hakuna Matata is...
Read moreI stayed at this hostel for two nights. Arriving at the hostel for dinner time I immediately went to the kitchen to cook something to eat and to my surprise I found many ants walking quietly on the stove and in the fridge. I managed to cook the same and after getting into the dining room I noticed other ants on the table approaching my plate. To top it off, I woke up during the night because I felt pinches on my right side And I noticed that there were ants in the bed too. I immediately communicated to the owner of the hostel all these things and he told me "quiet they are not poisonous, they are domestic ants" I hoped it was a joke, but it was serious. The next day he sent his father to check the ants and magically could not see them, despite being everywhere in any room of the house, who after calling his son and speaking in Croatian (language I do not speak) apologized to me and I hoped it was a joke, but it was serious. The next day he sent his father to check the ants and magically could not see them, despite being everywhere in any room of the house, who after calling his son and speaking in Croatian (language I do not speak) apologized and gave me 5€ for the trouble, I refused. I've paid €50,00 per night to be bitten by ants!!!!! There's no way I'm coming back. Hope it...
Read moreI would say this has been a great place to stay. Its the king of budget hostel. Dubrovnik can be very expensive due to its popularity. This place is more than pleasant to stay and affordable in this area. The host "Antonio" goes far to make you feel welcome, offers a drink on arrival. Not many host do that in a cheaper hostel. He seems to be very proud of his family run busines. He makes sure the place is looking good and he keeps it tidy. The toilets and shower rooms are important and they are kept feeling clean and smell great. Kitchen has decent equipment to cook your meals. The place is currently in renovation mode. But still doesn't effect your stay . 10/10. I would stay here...
