Apartments Arena Pula — Hotel in Grad Pula

The apartments have an incredible location directly next to the biggest and most famous attraction in Pula. It was amazing just looking out the window of the apartment & seeing the arena up close each time. ||||There were just two main inconveniences staying here: no lift and having to call upon arrival. Despite emailing our expected arrival time, we still had to call once at the apartment. When we arrived I had no reception on my phone & no one was there to let us in so it took a bit of time before I could find reception, make the call, then wait a few minutes more for Zoran to arrive, who is a friendly, helpful and good humored guy. I understand the reason for needing to call but it isn't always feasible for tourists to make an international phone call from their non-Croatian mobile, so hopefully a better system can be arranged in the future. Note only cash is accepted. ||||In winter (and I know that almost no one visits Pula in winter), but the apartment didn't really warm up much despite having two heaters on & the doors closed. The apartment was quite spacious, kitchen & bathroom were adequate, hot water did run out rather quickly though, which appeared to be common in Croatian apartments. We were otherwise satisfied with the apartment and slept well. Although it was on the top floor (meaning many stairs) and a tad outdated, it's location and value was so good that it's still...

I stayed here in July for 3 nights with my parents. We had a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the Arena, so definately a room with a view!! Arrived by ferry and the apartment was only 100 metres from the terminal, so very convenient for us. It was a 5 minute walk to the centre of town. We pre-arranged an arrival time with the owner and was met with keys. You pre-pay the total amount on arrival and then leave the keys in the apartment upon departure. There is no reception, but I used email to contact the owner during our stay and received immediate responses. The apartment was spacious and clean. Free wifi. The aircon in our apartment was broken and after a couple of attempts to fix it the owner gave us a generous refund towards part of our stay. Under the circumstances he did everything he could to fix it, but was fully booked and could not move us to another apartment. Fantastic location, with comfy beds, extremely good shower, once we had worked out which switch (outside the bathroom) we needed to leave on, as no instructions are left for any of the appliances. Fantastic wifi. The apartment we had was in the eves, so just need to be careful getting out of bed at night, (the bathroom is downstairs). The aircon is at the top of the steps and not in the bedrooms, so would not like to stay here in the height of summer. The kitchen sink could also do with a plug, their is a dishwasher but we were only their for 4 nights so did not want to buy any, so we washed up using a jug and running the hot water tap. If we went again I would take some dishwasher tablets with us.
