😊: This is a compact but very well appointed apartment in an excellent location in the old town of Split. Two showers and toilets is remarkable in such a small apartment, making it ideal for up to 4 adults travelling together. The hostess made us feel super welcome and the fridge was stocked with a variety of drinks for our enjoyment. The host doesn't speak English (her husband does but we didn't meet him), but fluent German so we got by. Beds were very comfortable with good bed linen and towels. Air conditioning and fans were effective to keep the rooms cool.. 😢: I would rate this apartment 10 except for one thing. The hot water in the shower was very difficult to control, temperature would change from cold to hot or hot to cold randomly, without adjusting the mixer. This is a nuisance at best, but dangerous at worst, particularly for young children showering independently. Offsetting this, there is a second shower in the apartment, which we didn't use - maybe the water temperature control was better in...
Read moreThis is actually no hotel (no idea why the TA classified it as such), but a fine apartment located in a small ground floor house, the owners living in the house behind where is another, larger, apartment. The owners, Mrs Marija and Mr Mijo, are simply great - they greet you, help to find your way around, there is the "welcome package" - juice, mineral water, beer, wine, snacks. They speak just German and Croatian, but it's not a big deal. There is a small back garden with a barbeque, where one can enjoy his morning breakfast or afternoon tee in a shade. The apartmen has a comfortable bathroom even with a washing machine, a fully equipped kitchen and air conditioning. I have parked my motorbike in front of the apartment - for a car you need to look in the streets around. You may pay in € or HRK. Better book directly at Kameni Val web site as it's cheaper than on different booking platforms. Can only praise them - very good value and a place where I wish...
Read more😊: Marija had prepared plenty of drinks in the fridge, which the kids absolutely loved. Although we arrived a bit late, Marija warmly welcomed us and patiently introduced the place. The house is not far from the port and bus station, and it’s close to all the main attractions. The path to the house is uphill, which can be a bit tiring when pushing large suitcases. However, our 8-year-old child managed to push our 23kg suitcase all the way—so it’s definitely manageable. Lidl is very close by, and there are also shops along the way to the attractions. There’s a drying rack, which is great for hanging laundry. The interior of the house isn’t brand new, but it’s well-equipped with everything we needed. Perfect size for 4 people—just right for our family.. 😢: The electric kettle wasn’t working perfectly, but the stove heated water...
