I booked well in advance for my best friends birthday and we were incredibly excited to come here after seeing the great reviews. We were met by a very friendly host who showed us to the balcony and then his friendly colleague showed us to our table. We were unfortunately left waiting with no waiter greeting us for over five minutes. Our waiter then came over and let us know that there had been no menus available - completely fine but it would have been nice to have been greeted/offered water/drinks when we sat down. Looking at the menu, the food sounded delicious and unique, and the food coming out to other peoples tables looked tasty. When our waiter finally came back to take our order - apologising once again for the wait - we were told that everything included nuts or beans except for the cheese. Whilst this would not be an issue if we had not disclosed the allergy on our booking beforehand - I had made it clear when we had booked a months prior of my friends allergies as well as the fact that it was her birthday. Whilst this was not the waiters fault, and we did not blame him - we tried to find a way to exclude nuts from the dishes and compromise, however it was clear that this was not possible. We were also told that this “was normal and typical Croatian cuisine” - which we had not had an issue with at any other restaurants. We unfortunately decided it was therefore best for us to not stay and eat here. I cannot comment on the food and I am sure it would have been a perfectly lovely experience, but for us it was not quite what we expected! If you are someone who has allergies, please do be aware. And do let them know if you are allergic to anything, as the menu also does not clearly state potential allergens.

Edit - 27/06/24 - I would like to add that my friend and I recieved a kind email from the owner Marin after writing this review, which was completely unexpected but welcomed. I really appreciate the way they have handled my review and I can understand why it is known to be one of the best...

Terrible dinner. Food quality Is ok but nothing so special among the several restaurants in split (Others such as CORTO MALTESE OR PANDORA are quite Better). Arrived at 8pm we ordered two appetizer and then two main dishes (pasta); for the last ones we had to wait almost 1 hour; we asked Infos to a waitress Who "Kindly" told us to speak to our waiter only. This waiter, only After our complaining, tried to offer a drink. After these words, he disappered again and, After OTHER ALMOST TEN MINUTES OF WAITING, we decided to leave. To avoid the risk of such awful experience here you are a list of Better restaurants in Split: -Corto Maltese -Uje oil Bar -Pandora -Para di Soto -Muma -FishMama -Pinku. I apologize for any grammatical errors but I Hope the message Is clear!!!

PART TWO (After the answer from articok): As you can see in my review, I apologize for any grammatical error, It's easy insult a foreign tourist and this kind of words confirm your rude attitude towards customers. People around me were eating normally (the table aside ate an appetizer, a main dish and a dessert!!! and in another table people (arrived After US) were eating linguine..and we ordered that one), and we....we...we were watching them all. Furthermore I didn't yell at all, i Just said to a waitress to be kinder towards my friend and me; dont lie please! PS. Last but not least one more thing: i couldn't be perfect in english but i guess you should learn reading; the other review Is from my friend Who was with me at the dinner; we have the same name but, if you can read, a...

What an absolutely phenomenal dining experience! Our group of 19 had the most incredible evening at Restaurant Articok in Split, and I cannot sing their praises highly enough. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were treated fabulously. The standout star of our evening was Manager Natasha, whose hospitality was nothing short of extraordinary. Managing a table of 19 can be challenging for any restaurant, but Natasha orchestrated everything with such grace, warmth, and professionalism that it felt effortless. Now, let's talk about the food: the slow-cooked beef rib was an absolute masterpiece. It was perfectly seasoned with a beautiful caramelized exterior that gave way to the most succulent, melt-in-your-mouth interior. This dish alone is worth the visit! What truly impressed me beyond the outstanding food was the attention to detail throughout our meal. Every plate was artfully presented, the timing of courses was impeccable despite our large group size, and the staff clearly took pride in every aspect of the service. The entire team at Articok deserves recognition for creating such a memorable experience. In a city filled with dining options, Restaurant Articok delivers. The combination of exceptional food, outstanding service and genuine Croatian hospitality makes this a must-visit destination so if you're in Split and want an unforgettable dining experience, don't walk - RUN to Restaurant Articok. You won't regret it! Thank you, Articok team, for an evening we'll...

Articok was average at best and underwhelming in many other aspects. For the good: It's a very cool atmosphere on the roof with old town buildings all around. They set up our 2 top right by the bar and server station which was a disappointment. We did reserve last minute but I chalk it up to luck of the draw. The wine was very good as we have found throughout Croatia and my Negroni was well made. The artichoke appetizer was delicious and very unique. The not so good: Main entrees were simple and flavorless. The fish stew was just basic fish potatoes and carrots in simple broth. That's it. Should be called fish soup. I cannot understand others raving about this. The fish fillet was either tuna or swordfish, it was so overcooked we honestly could not tell. The sauce and mushrooms on the side were very good but the protein needs to be the star of the dish. Service was spotty at best. Had to wait 10 min after seating till we finally had to ask for water ... for a charge of course. Had to wait for wine with dinner, had to wait for side of bread with fish soup which only arrived halfway through after i asked, even had to wait a LONG time just to get the check. There were servers everywhere so it's a head scratcher. Only picture is the artichoke app ... forgot to take pics of the entrees but don't want to remember them anyway! Overall disappointed and would not return.

Let's start with the service- really top notch. All the staff were very knowledgeable about each dish and were extremely courteous and friendly. One of the staff had worked in Manchester and so didn't mind me ordering 3 glasses of wine at a time 😅 He was also very knowledgeable about each of the wines and explained to me that the staff have visited the vineyards and work closely with the suppliers and was able to talk me through the different weathers and the tastes of the wine as a result. The food - really delicious. Honestly top knotch! I rarely get a main course as I prefer to try another of starters instead and get a range of dishes. This wasn't a problem, despite my arrival being late in the evening. Food was incredible, I recommend the beef carpaccio. Update- I attended again the next day and the rib eye steak was to die for. The sauce that comes with it was so rich and delicious. Wow! And the portion was HUGE. Great value for money! The drinks - The wine was great. I tried the orange wine which was unique but definitely drinkable. The lemon drop cocktail was delightful and a great end to the night. In fact each wine that I had (which was a few!) Was great. I also loved the fact the waiters wore white museum gloves when handling the silverware. It was so extra but I loved it. Definitely recommend. If you can, book a table as it gets very busy due to the great quality.

Articok in Split truly offers a fantastic dining experience, as beautifully captured in these images. From the inviting ambiance to the exquisitely presented dishes, it's clear this restaurant is a must-visit. The outdoor terrace looks incredibly appealing, providing a perfect setting to enjoy a meal under the clear blue sky, with charming views of the surrounding historic buildings. Inside, the modern and artistic lighting creates a chic and sophisticated atmosphere. And then, the food! The dishes are not only visually stunning but also appear to be crafted with care and creativity. The braised meat dish with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables looks incredibly rich and flavorful, with crispy fried onions adding a lovely textural contrast. The pink drink and bright orange cocktail suggest a vibrant beverage selection to complement the meal. The appetizer with sliced ingredients, like carpaccio, adorned with fresh herbs and a side of olives, hints at a refined and fresh start to the meal. The risotto topped with thinly sliced fish showcases an innovative approach to traditional dishes. Overall, Articok appears to deliver on both atmosphere and culinary excellence, making it a highly recommended spot for a memorable meal in Split.
