ATTENTION!!!! ATTENTION!!!! ATTENTION!!!! ATTENTION!!!! ATTENTION!!!!||||If you're looking for a substandard hotel where, after a less than positive review, money is subsequently debited from your credit card for flimsy reasons, this hotel deserves 5 stars and is highly recommended.||||But in detail:||||I booked the Superior Room for 9 days in June 2025, very, very expensive and without breakfast.||||Room:||The hole, uhhh, room is small and dark. There are shutters on the outside that can be opened. But who wants to run out of their room half-naked in the morning and open them? And when they're open, anyone can look through the window. This could be solved with brighter lights, but that would be customer service, and that's not encouraged in this hotel. There was also a refrigerator attached to the wall. It could hold two mini water bottles. It just wasn't plugged in and was removed after 5 days. I still don't know why. In such a hot country, warm drinks say it all. Then there's a socket on a small bedside table 1 meter from the bed, where there's also a sinister bedside lamp. If you want to charge your phone overnight, you'll trip over the cable on your way to the bathroom. There's also a safe that can hold a passport and cash, everything is designed for saving money. The highlight is the bathroom. The shower is poorly constructed; it has two glass walls, but is open at the front. After showering, the bathroom floods. I bought a mop to remedy this problem. The bathroom door has no handle from the outside and is always slightly open. Then there's an automatic light switch: if the door is closed, the light goes out after a while. But that doesn't work anymore. So you wake up several times in the night because the light in this haunted room turns on as if by magic. This happens about 3-4 times a night. Sleep is then of course impossible. The hotel claims that everything in the bathroom has been redone. Now I'm wondering why old reviews for this hotel also describe this serious deficiency.||||Internet:||It's practically nonexistent. Without a hotspot through your own provider, you have no chance. Even the bakery around the corner has faster internet. But that also fits the overall impression of the hotel.||Hotel:||During my 9 days, the rooms were almost never occupied. In retrospect, I now understand why that is. Unfortunately, I booked a little late, and there was nothing left in the corner. Only in this hotel were rooms available at all times. No wonder... The hotel seems eerie and bizarre because you're all alone.||||Cleanliness:||The floor wasn't mopped in the 9 days. I noticed it because there were hairs and small stones always in the same place. The bed also never had a fresh make-up for 9 days, and the bedsheet was coming off, leaving the mattress exposed. The towels are unpleasantly hard. I never stay in budget hotels, but you could imagine towels like these in hotels like this. Oh yeah, there's also no sign indicating whether room cleaning is required. So, you might find yourself in the room with the cleaning lady standing there when you step out of the shower naked. It happened to me once, but I had the key in the door. Knocking doesn't seem to be common practice at this hotel either.||||Service:||After I gave the hotel a bad review, my credit card was charged €100. I inquired, and then, without comment, I received an invoice for "incidents & cleaning fees." I asked what that was, and the answer was that I had soiled the room. And I should now contact my booking agent. I understand, service and satisfied guests are not desired at this hotel. I asked my booking agent, and the answer was that the toilet was clogged and they had to hire professionals. And a whole lot of other damage. Of course, this is all far-fetched. You can also read this in other reviews of the hotel; it seems to be a common practice there. Let me recap: I left the hotel at 2 p.m., and people were already waiting downstairs for their room, as it had to be ready by 3 p.m. And they fixed all the serious defects within an hour. A fairytale hour at the local hotel. I advised my tour operator to remove the hotel from their program.||||Conclusion:||I travel about 4-5 times a year and often stay in hotels away from home for work. This was by far the worst hotel I've stayed in. The service is poor, and the management is completely unprofessional. I'm surprised they haven't gone bankrupt yet. Cyprus is truly a great country; the people are very nice, very helpful, and hospitable. Only the hotel does not reflect this and ruins your...
Read moreI was unexpectedly stuck in Larnaca, Cyprus, for a night recently and my insurance company put me here. Its not a large beachfront hotel and that's a real positive. It's surrounded by artisanal workshops and a stone's throw from the Agios Lorenzos or Church of St Lawrence. As you walk in your think you've walked in to a high end antique shop. The staff could not have been more helpful, the rooms (if mine was anything to go by) are delightful with everything you'd expect. You're given a small tablet with your key and asked how many WiFi codes you require. Breakfast was traditional Cypriot with the usual options and a lovely selection of pastries. I didn't eat there later on but the menu looked, again, very traditional with and emphasis on local produce, especially halloumi cheese and herbs in various delicious looking dishes. There is a pool on the roof but due to an injury I could not take advantage but other guests seemed to be enjoying it. It is split into two parts. The old and the new. My room was in the old section and the room was large and airy. Not much of a view but the shutters let in enough light even when closed. The bed was very comfortable with more pillows and cushions than I needed and more towels, of various sizes, than you can hope for. The antique theme continued with some beautiful furniture and a very modern bathroom. And excellent shower, toilet and sink with a great selection of soaps and toiletries. I walked the local area and it was a few blocks from the beach and on the way I passed many workshops , cafes and stores selling all kinds of traditional foods, furniture and things like icons and other art. I'm sure I checked out late but the staff said it was no problem. They were all locals and have great advice about places to go, etc. If I ever return to Larnaca this would be where...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed at this hotel, we booked last minute so was a bit dubious about what we were going to get as the hotels we wanted were already fully booked however the lokal hotel is beautiful! The hotel is located in the central area of the rustic charm of the old town with plenty to see and do...The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, they give you tablets for your room so you can call them anytime. Our room was cleaned every day and was modern and stylish. It only has plug sockets (x4) in one place so we had to move the mirror so I could dry my hair and do my make up etc but was not an issue. It even had a bath in the corner of the room which was a nice touch! They left chocolates, card and a bottle of bubbly for my birthday which was super thoughtful as we only mentioned it in passing on check in. Breakfast is a bit disappointing, we had it once and ordered an omelette, it was nice but not much choice on the cooked front. There is no tea of coffee facilities in the room but you can request from reception for a charge. The bathroom was very modern with a big shower. The water was warm but not hot for the shower and sometimes we had problems with the pressure. The light is on a motion sensor so if you shower and use the loo for to long it turns off but if you move it comes back on straight away. Apparently on the tablet you can switch the light on permanently. The bed was clean but quite uncomfortable, it had a nice mattress but a very hard base.
Would definitely return! The location is perfect as in the city centre and there is a beautiful church nearby and the staff were great!
Would not hesitate in...
