Do not stay in this hotel! I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and that was by far the rudest, most unprofessional staff I have encountered. Trying to have a conversation with them was impossible. They just shouted inappropriately at us until we had to walk away. Upon arrival, two of us stayed with the car, just pulled over temporarily, and one of us went in alone to ask about parking because we didn’t know where we could park (We don’t read Czech), and they would not provide info until we parked. So we had to park in order to park. After check-in, I attempted to explore parking options on my own since we needed parking past checkout time, they told me it was no longer available for us because we didn’t take it at check-in time. This was the first time we got in an argument – I told them they could not advertise that parking was available when it wasn’t. While I maybe should have read the fine print to see that you were supposed to make reservations, the way the receptionist lost his cool was extremely unprofessional. We tried to use the combination safe to store our valuables but there were no instructions, and while trying to figure it out, it locked our stuff inside. My friend went downstairs and was given the key as expected but no instructions on how to use the safe. When I later asked the receptionist if it was broken, he said, “No, it works with a key!” So I responded, “Yes, but it’s a combination safe. Is the combination feature broken?” He again said, “No, it works with a key like I told your friend!” At that point, he started shouting and even threatened to throw us out of the hotel. I just walked out the door because his...

There was only one bathrobe for 2 of us, the bed-heading was cut with a knife, the glass of a framed picture on one of the walls was cracked from side to side, the curtains had holes from cigarettes, there was tobacco smell and thick dirt in the bathroom. But on top of all that were blood stains on the wall next to the bed! I complained to the receptionist about all those horrible things but she didn't care. Absolutely unacceptable for a 4* hotel which cost us €100, including overcharge due to their special conversion rate. As it was only one night stay we decided to put up with that but write a negative review on Booking and provide it with photographs. Just after my review was published, I had a phone call from the hotel director who started pleading me to delete my review. Instead, he offered perfect conditions of staying in one of his hotels the next time we visit Prague. He sounded so apologetic that I gave up and deleted my review with all the photographs. |And here we are now - in Prague but staying in another 4* hotel, which looks and smells much better, is located in a more attractive part of Prague and costs less. And that's because I tried but failed to reach the EA Sonata HD on his phone, he did not answer my email either. He just broke his word.|If you don't want to feel disappointed and spoil your impression of beautiful Prague - my recommendation is to avoid staying in EA Sonata. There are so many other hotels in Prague with nice atmosphere and friendly staff who care about...
